Turner Motorsports - Recommendation

Has anyone had modifications done on their Mini at Turner Motorports in Amesbury, Massachusetts? What was your experience?

It's my reccomendation that you don't spend what you don't need to spend, and they are expensive. Talk to BWROOFCHEX here on NAM or venture over to www.oceanstatemini.com. He has the same logon there. He has a shop and does top notch work, and also owns 2 MINI's. He won't do you wrong and is in Worcester, MA, right off of the pike and rt146.

Hope this helps!

It depends upon what you want. For "basic" work, I agree that Turner is going to be more expensive than you'll probably need. For "advanced" work, like prepping a killer track car, I'd go to Turner over just about anyone else in the area. They have just a little experience in that kind of stuff

I live in the next town over from Amesbury (Newburyport) and have had a few things done there. Top notch work at top dollar. I agree wholeheartedly with snid's comments. I went there to get my Remus exhaust installed as they were the only one listed as a dealer in Mass.(they have since dropped the line and Remus has since stopped making the exhaust) . You will find that the MINI dealership in Peabody is fairly mod friendly and they do top notch work and will guarantee parts for two years if bought there. Pete in Worcester mentioned above is a very valid alternative . Good guy, good mechanic, passionate about MINIs.
Hope this helps. Jock

I live in Newton, and if there were someone closer who was reputable and who I knew had experience with MINIs, I'd probably use them, but I don't know of anyone.

I have had Turner install two exhausts and a short shift kit on my MINIs. Each job was well under $100, and I'd rather have an excess of expertise than a lack thereof. Their work has been flawless for me, and they are polite and professional. They even charged me for less labor than the job actually required when they installed the Borla exhaust on my first Cooper, since it was the first one they'd seen and it took some extra time.

As far as track prepped MINIs go, I think I've seen the HMS MINI out on the track more often than the Turner MINI. But I'd trust either of those shops for information or to do work on my car. They're both (Turner and HMS) present and almost all the local BMWCCA events and there to help out, which counts for a lot in my book. I've watched the HMS guys change out broken supercharger belts on a few MCSes fast enough to get the driver back out on the track without missing a session.

The HMS MINI is often the pace / safety car for BMWCCA club racing.

If you know what you want... then go to DT Automotive and see Pete (BWROOFCHEX). He does really good work and you will get a good deal.

All of these other guys are good but too expensive.

I'd bet Pete would agree that he's no match for Turner Motorsports in terms of high end track / performance work.
