Thanks! Are there any dealers that have good relations with the forums or reputation? In the subaru world, most enthusiasts would recommended Ramsey as they are active on the forums and knowledgeable. Hopefully something exists for the mini's too (princeton mini?)

Anyone running a catless DP in NY? If so are you guys switching back to catted for emissions? Im looking to get the Manic stage II or go to tyrol but have concerns about passing emissions in November. I currently have a visual constant CEL for the DP. If someone wants to PM about what they are doing feel free.

I'm running a flow thru catted DP thru my Alta turbo back exhaust and no lights or emissions problems. I'm also running stage 3 on my accessport. I just had a performance clutch & flywheel installed and I'm going thru my break in period which is 1000 miles. PIA but must be done. You should be able to clear the light. But I think it's going to keep coming back.

^ Yeah pretty sure it will just going to come back or if it does go away my readiness monitor will still not set on OBD II. Ughh that break in period is always tough hopefully it goes quickly.

Which mini do you have?

I have the R60s (N18 engine). Everywhere I look about the Hi-Flow Catted or Catless DP it says that you will need a tune to run them and to suppress the idiot light (CEL), also the N18 engine will not pass emissions with the any of the higher flow aftermarket DP's. If they are wrong please lmk. I've been eyeing the Miltek Hi-Flow chatted DP

I have the R60s as well with n18 same color as yours. I have the vip custom parts Catless downpipe. There have always been work arounds in other car platforms I have come from so hoping I can figure it out before November and not have to Uninstall and reinstall the dp again.

Do any NYC folks have recommended mini specific mechanics in the tri state area theyd recommend? Doesn't have to be a full on speed shop... i'm interested in the independent mechanics that work out of their own houses as well . As long as their an expert in all things mini!

There's a guy I use his name is DAVID SOMA and is a top mini mechanic. I just had him install my performance clutch. He's currently working at a BMW Dealership.he also races. His garage is located in the Bronx ny.
He's very meticulous and knows how to treat a clients car. He can be reached at
914-960-7273.

hm possibly...

I frequent NASIOC as well for my other vehicle (2017 Subaru WRX).

In the past, spent a good amount of time on www.infinitifx.org, www.infinitiscene.com, www.clublexus.com and ih8mud. Possibly we've run into each other before?

oh and theres also a font called 'pmingliu' that might be a little close to my handle :-D

Here is a group shot from the Hudson Valley Fast Run through the twisties. A few people couldn’t hang and left but it was a ton of fun and the rain made for testing your skills.
