when everyone gets to the meeting spot on the palisades I"m going to go through my shpiel (spelling?? hahaha) hang out for a bit and then we're all going to drive up to bear mountain. once we get there its up to you.

It would SUPER awesome if someone more familiar with the are, maybe someone fro Jersey knew a backroads way to get there instead of just sitting on the palisades for 45min....

Nice route swizzle. Coming home from apple picking last weekend, I detoured on 7 lakes drive with my family and the only other car we passed was a chili red mini cooper! Minis find the best roads, or maybe the other way around.

 

Yeah, any return time/agenda? I'm still trying to convince the other half we will make it back to LI for a late Sunday party. Is this a one way rally?

 

I hadn't thought of that... hmmm. I'm staying on that side of the hudson. I have to be in Sayerville for a concert @ or around 7pm. I sure that if it isn't worked out before-hand, people will be able to coordinate when we meet up. I know that a bunch of people from the island are going to be coming in together so maybe you can get together with them. NYPepper would the guy to talk to about that group of pplz

 

The day before the run, I am remebering a certain song from the musical Annie...

 

the way we did it last year was we ride up together and leave whatever time you have/want to. there is a group of people that will stay till it closes at 6pm then ride back together.

 

Looks like I am now a 90% no show for tomorrow.

For those who have not been there are some great driving roads then the Ocktober Fest itself is nice. Lots of beer, food and last year an authentic German band. I brought my kids last year and they loved the merry-go-round feeding the ducks on the lake and the zoo that are all right there.

Still hope to make it but not looking good right now..

Anyone able to give a locale and/or a time for a rendezvous en route tomorrow? I'm in White Plains & may come down to NYC or just meet up while in motion. Any places? Times?

I'm from White Plains & that route going up the Palisades, to route 9W and then thru the park is a pretty awesome road. There is another great little detour about 2.5 miles farther north for a mid day run. Its route 218 that winds along high up above the Hudson with steep drops, plenty of twisties and great views. Find me at the Palisades gas station near exit 5 tomorrow. Grey/black S license A NY MIN. Maybe after lunch some may want to go for the tour!

 

Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow! This is going to be great. 11:30-12:00N at the Palisades Mobil Station between Exit 4 and 5 is my understanding - fantastic. We'll be motoring on down to there from Connecticut, so see you then and there!

 

Looks like i wont be able to make it, will be heading up to Chattam far earlier than you guys will be meeting up since its a 3 hour drive for me.

Have lots of fun, and I'll be sure to attend any club meets you guys come up with in the city.

Sorry I couldn't make it today - something had come up - I had told a couple of people that I couldn't make it - but the fact is we still need to plan for MINY's meeting.. I'm psyched for that..

 

sry i couldnt come today everyone, but i did take my free time to put on my alta silicone couplers and my m7 rotors get here this week, so i'll put some of those up soon

 

had a FANTASTIC time. The weather was great, the drive was awesome and the Mini people were the best. Can we do this every Sunday? Thanks everyone who went for the great time -- looking forward to seeing you at the next! For those who couldn't make it this time around, see you at the next one!
