Howdy all,
I'm a lucky owner of a new Mini Countryman SD. Great car but unfortunately because I live in Australia some features that you guys have are not available to me.
In particular the mini connected feature.
Now im guessing its just a firmware hack that if I could find the right software I could unlock the features.
Does anyone have any contacts in Australia that may be able to help??

I can confirm that I have my mini upgraded/unlocked and I can use the mini connectivity. For this to happen contact Jimmyblunt (above responses) and get him to look at it. I can confirm that it works and isn't too much of a hassle. However to get it unlocked I had to actually meet Jimmy in person and he used his laptop. Means you have to get yourselves to Sydney

I think to get it done, will need ODB2 connector and some ECU programming using NCS Expert, from Jimmyblunt last years's post, he have to get FSC code to activate it.

I also picked up a Countryman S recently in Brisbane, looking to get Mini Connected working in the past few days.

 

What is this " FSC code " ??

We got it done here in Turkey.

You need v43 on your car, not possible on the higher versions.

 

That is not true...IF you have newer firmware it still can be activated but you would need to import FSC activation to the headunit...I have done many BMWs

Firmware V43 was before it needed the FSC activation but after it requires it...

 

anyone who is still interested - i can help with getting the FSC code and also activating it in your car.

Hi all. I'm also looking to activate Mini Connected in a 2016 Countryman - I have tried to PM JimmyBlunt, but no response for months. Does anyone else know how I might go about getting this done? I have done a brief investigation into unlocking it myself, but I'm no programmer and have not found a procedure out there for unlocking Connected in an Australian release...

Help! So frustrating to have been sucked in by the pretty brochures with their glossy Connected features highlighted, only to find out that most these features were completely disabled for the Australian market (rather than develop an Australian compliant version, like other manufactures do)!
