Question Adding an active subwoofer to my R60, install options?

Hello,

My 2012 R60 is the base audio package, so I decided to pick up this fella from Amazon:
Amazon Amazon

Don't really want to deal with replacing the head unit, it sounds like more trouble than it's worth.

I was going to install it under the seat but it looks like it might be too big. So failing that, my plan B is to put it in the compartment under the trunk.

There's a 12V plug in the trunk, so I was thinking of yanking it for a power/ground feed. However the wire gauge looks a little thin. The manual for the sub recommends 10GA, I'm fairly certain the wiring for the 12V is less than that.

Am I crazy for thinking this will work, or should I just quit being lazy and wire it properly?

Wire to battery with fuse close to battery. 12v plug is way too small.

you might want to see if it'll fit underneath the passenger side front seat. I had a similar issue when I was mounting an amp (thinking it would fit underneath one of the seats), but it didn't

Under the pass side seat, beneath the carpet, there is a pocket there where I was able to just fit my amp. I forget exactly how much room is there but worth a shot
