Navigation & Audio Pulling the HK Amp
Pulling the HK Amp
OK, I have figured out the problem with my HK system is the amp, and I've found a used replacement for a fraction of the dealer cost. I thought I'd pull and replace it quickly tomorrow AM before heading out for MTTS.
I yanked the lid covering the amp and discovered only one mounting screw is readily accessible.
All I want to do is remove and replace the amp with an identical unit. I even have the bracket for the replacement. Is there an easy way to do this, or am I looking at pulling the rear seats before I can get the rest of the cover off?
I think I am just a couple of inches away from where I need to be to both start and finish the job. Where do I go from here?

Am I going to be able to see this sunroof design soon then?

A foot long (actually a #2 Philips with an 8" shank) did the trick. An inch longer would have been better still. A #3 would not work at all.
Getting the amp and bracket out of the opening, and back in again, was a challenge, and I lost one of the screws in the process. For now, I will get by with the bracket connected in only two places.
In any case, the sound is back where it belongs, and that is all that matters.
GBMINI, I saw GPMINI and its traveling twins in Charlottesville. Very nice.
