Any suggestions on how to do an install like this? (pic)

Hey all,

I want to install a touchscreen in my MCS...and while I am pretty handy with building things and electronics, I haven't done much with car modifications. I've read a few how-to's on custom stereo mini work, but does anyone have any specific ideas or information on how to do the install pictured here?

From what I can see, here's the list of mods:

1. Relocating the AC control panel (the wire harness should be long enough)
2. Remove the factory stereo and relocate and replace with an after market stereo
3. Remove and delete the cup holders and the plastic piece under the toggle switch panel
4. Fabricate 2 side panels to enclose the relocated AC panel and Stereo while the 2 side panels also serve to hold the stereo and the AC panel in place
5. Mount the double-din monitor in place of the AC and stereo

If you're pretty handy, this shouldn't be overly challenging. Good luck!

No idea, I've had it for awhile. If i go ahead and do this I will document thoroughly as I've yet to find a good mini-speific install like this shown. Plan is to install a Mac Mini in the glove box and use the touchscreen to access MP3s, DVDs etc.

LCD mounting

Why not consider an LCD clipped over the rearview mirror. When not in use it is a rearview mirror. When you want to view movies everyone in the car can see. Works great for me.
