ack

tried the non Brit one and got the same error. And now the NAV system won't load at all just stays blank. Any ideas?

What type of disc is the iso suppose to be burned on? I used a CD-R, I woulda thought you used a DVD but all the info says burn to a CD.

this is not good

I've now tried like 8 different reburns and always the same thing, the screen that says this will take up to 6 minutes, then a few seconds later the CD is defective. Do you need a CD+R instead of a minus?

ok

I finally got the firmware to upgrade. It looks like using the ISO file isn't good and you need to use the .img file instead of course its like impossible to find a program to burn a .img file. Anyways it said it was complete and it was rebooting and all. Only problem is there is still no display on the screen its just completely black. Any ideas?

Yikes!

Ok so I ended up flashing back to the 24.1 which worked yet it gave me the nice BMW Logo and look. So then I flashed once again back to the version 25. All is working now except I'm stuck in yards and lost the annoying press accept button. As much as I hate that screen, I'm thinking driving in yards is going to be worse. Is the only way to get that fixed to take it to the dealer?

If you downgrade versions then back to later it will loose the location setting. The USA setting tells it to use Feet and display the warning screen.

Sorry you had problems. I burned each of the images for V25 and loaded them in my nav with no issues. Sometimes a bad burn will cause the upgrade to fail.

Hmmm

I think my problem was one copy was a .iso and one was a .img. I tried both of them starting with the Brit version which every program I had burned the .iso but it wasn't naming the cd. And no programs I had would burn a .img so I nded up using DvdDecryper which worked great. I drove around today for a bit and the yards issue isn't to bad. I think my only beef now is the average gas usage is inaccurate slightly now. Drove about 180 highway miles today and it said I was getting 33 miles to the gallon. Sounds a bit high.

Yes, when you erace the location setting it reverts to Imperial Gallons so your MPG will appear higher.

Your dealer can set the location code for your car. Don't know if they will charge for it.
