Need a tutorial on using iPod in the MINI..

Hello to all, i conducted a search and couldn't find a thread that really helped me. Well, anyways, I just got my ipod adapter installed by the dealer and I uploaded the songs into four different playlist, but when i hook it up to the MINI it justs says TR and the track number. It also only plays the first 99 songs and starts the same playlist all over again. I'm in need of some help learning to use this thing. Please help..

TIA,
Chris

The iPod adapter does not go onto the next playlist once one playlist has ended. You need to manually do it by pressing one of the stereo presets on the headunit (1 thru 5 are your MINI playlists, 6 is the entire library of your iPod).

The TR thing is normal...in order to start the iPod, press the preset on the headunit of the playlist you want to hear.

Now...did you not get an owner's manual when you got your iPod adapter? My dealer gave me one when I had it installed and it goes thru the ins & outs of the adapter. By all means ask away on the forums, but the owners manual might be really helpful to you, so I'd get it from your dealer...especially because the adapter isn't exactly intuitive.

Your playlists must be named MINI1 MINI2 MINI3 MINI4 MINI5 in order for them to be recognized.

Playlists MINI1 - MINI5 corespond to the buttons on the head unit. 6 is the whole library.

The head unit only shows Track number 01-99 no song names, and if there are more then 99 songs in the playlist it will start over at 01. ex. song 100 is 01, 101 is 02. You can have as many songs in a playlist as your heart desires.

Once a Playlist has played the whole way through it starts over, you have to select a different Playlist.

Track Up and Track Down do just that, holding the Track UP or Down button on the Head unit or MFSW, will skip ahead or back 10 songs, 1-11-21-31 etc.

RDM (Random) plays songs in selected Playlist randomly, and Rpt (repeat) repeats the current song over and over again until repeat is turned off.

When in RDM or RPT mode, the Track Up and Down buttons on the Head unit and MFSW will cue or review through the current song.

That's it in a nutshell.

Steve
