Navigation & Audio How to: Update Nav software/enable British voice
Say I had the disc for my 2009 Cabrio for the USA that I wanted to change the voice on to british. I have the europe disc, but not sure if the british voice folder could be copied into the usa one? I know I would have to remake the iso file for the USA version. The experiment would risk a dual layer disc but I am tempted to try it.
bump for a link to the updated version of the software. i am going to call my dealership tomorrow to see how bad they want to rip me off for the newest maps. then just order it on line...
but i still want the newest software version.
i have 4-1/70 and the 2005-2 disc.

i found a link i just had to dig for it more. now i have 4 1/100 w00t! there is no difference from 4 1/70 to 4 1/100 that i can tell right away. But maybe it jsut fixed some quirks in the system.
now just to get me the newest maps.

Bump for a link or a disk from someone to upgrade the software

I have the 4-1/71 version of software, and xoutpost seems to have reorganized their site, does anyone still know if the update on the site for the MKIV systems will work in our cars?
That is v27.1.... There are a few more updates over that one.

Yep, that was the last one. I just upgraded mine so that I could run the latest maps as it enables dual layer.
LOL, you gotta READ man, READ!
http://www.xoutpost.com/electronics/...available.html
It downloads as a .rar, which when unpacked is an .iso image, burn that to a DVD, load it, and you're golden.

this may be a stupid question, but I dont mind as this is not really my bag anyway... I've updated to a 2010 disc from a friend, but my maps still have the same blocky look, whereas my friend with an e39 m5 put in the same disc and got nice smooth looking maps... my car is an 05, build date is 7/04... I hope thats enough imformation. maybe the v32 I just downloaded will give me what I want?
It's possible that those are the maps themselves, what you (and I recently) loaded was just the software that controls the display I believe, but you have to have a current map disc as well.
Anyone know where you can get the current map disc for a good price?

i've got the 2010(likely the 2009 actually) disc, apparently the v32 i just installed (yeah, i know, i'm impatient) was what I was looking for... the maps disc I have now works with the nicer looking maps, cant wait to go for a drive and see what other new things ive got.
I'll see what I can do about getting an ISO of this map disc, but its likely you can find it somewhere on the webbernets
update: yes, on nefarious sites abound there are nav ISOs for BMW and navteq systems, and theres this: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...catalogid=4462

Underneath the passenger seat
Enter from the rear seat. Unless you are small, you will never see it. Go by feel. There is a little plastic door with a tab. Pull it. Then press the little eject button. Then feel your way to change the DVD. You can hear it work. Give it a sec, it will be fine.
