Okay as a summary to understand...

I bought an F56 screen? which is has some correct parts (See below points 2 and 3 that i checked and written on the parts receive today) that are compatible to the F60

1.Central information display 8,8´´ TOUCH (6820386) - This is correct part right?
2. Central instrument 8,8" (65509354027) - This is the plastic around that does not seem to fit mine. What part do i need?

Still need to buy:
3. Central instrument trim 8.8´´ (51459332786)
4. Blind ring LED 8,8" (65509354034)

Points 3 and 4 are also needed to finish the "job", but if point 2 is wrong then i need to address this first right? It seems larger to fit my dash and put the screws on followed by the trim and blind ring.

Looking forward to advise/support!

Mario

Hi All!

I'm currently in need of some guidance. I'm trying to source a iD5/6 HU. I've found a source but I'm told that I will need a ATM Emulator to get GPS working in the HU while not using CarPlay. Is this required or am I getting offered the wrong HU?

Thanks!

Hi,

A brief update. Managed to install correctly the 8.8 on the dash and coding was done. However, still no signal since my head unit in Entry Nav :( i need to change the head unit also so that the 8,8 screen to work (as told by an expert shop). Since wiring needs to be done they told me a price of 2,500 euros. Any advise/comments?

Hi,

unfortunately the shop is 2 hours away and i cannot go back at the moment to tell them to do it. They told me that nothing can be done if i dont change the head unit. Any chance that what you suggest will work?

any other thoughts? Thx

That is a BMW headunit, don’t purchase it as you will need to get the ATM emulator as they said. Also you will need to find a coder who is willing to convert the system from BMW to Mini. I bought one of these and ended up purchasing another that was a MINI HU.

You possibly have the wrong CID cable for voltge.
If the settings that @maaii mentioned are done, it works. I’ve done the same with my EntryNav and the cable that was already in the car, when I swapped the 6" for the 8".

6820386 touchscreen CID is APIX2 , it needs 12v to work.

I am not sure your entry nav can work with this new CID of touchscreen.

Ok so I have sourced a 8.8 touch screen and the correct nav head unit for my f56. Coding was done on the head unit for my car. I’m wondering what other pieces I’m going to need to install this into my Cooper s. I have the 6.5 boost system. Do I need new led ring and housing? Any cables? What do I need to make sure my usb still works?

[CITA = Marios Pitsillides; 4503342] Hola,

Cualquier consejo / comentarios? [/ quote]

I have a mini countryman f60, I have an 8.8 screen that I want to install, can you please tell me what parts I need to install the screen?
Thank you .

Good Morning Ladies and Gents,

I currently have the 6.5" screen. I'm wondering what it would take in order to convert from the 6.5" screen to the 8.8" with navigation. I'm looking to convert to the in-dash navigation so I can get rid of my portable GPS that's attached to a Click and Drive system and make it a lot more sleek. What all would I need to buy in order to make the swap and get it working for navigation with satellite radio (currently have working)

TIA,

Cody

Why are people asking the same questions over and over again? There is so much info in the thread, all it takes is a bit of reading.

You answer one person about what it takes to retrofit the EVO and the person right after asks the same question.

If he doesn’t have a compatible headunit then touch won’t work.

Short answer is no. This is a M.O.S.T interface headunit which is for fiber optic equipped BMWs.This will work with a 2011-2014 Countryman.

Got my daughters 2016 f56 cooper s retrofitted done. Thanks to a very nice forum member here who helped me source the parts and coding. Install was a breeze. And to the guy up a couple post asking why we are asking the same questions over and over again, if your not here to help than just don’t post anything. For some reading part numbers and trying to understand all the different nvt units is a daunting task.

@Bezlar Since you have singled me out in your post let me respond in kind.
I have assisted countless of members in the forum and have answered questions that have been repeated on a regular basis. There are only two or three members in particular that respond to questions in this post and if you have read through you will see who they are. There are also members who ask the same exact question back to back, their questions get answered, they go do something different then come back and ask the same questions again, if that doesn’t frustrate you the kudos to you; I am not about to call names as this is a free and open forum and I also never quoted you or anyone else in my said post.
I started off just like everyone else with no knowledge, but I read and read some more, then I asked questions that were not answered clearly before.

Do have a good day sir/ma’am.

Edit: Scrolled up to see your posts and you didn’t ask repetitive questions, so not sure what’s the deal.
