65829866932 touch controller (the one above is the non-touch) 400$
65509387452 8.8" display unit 3000$
TOTAL COST 4600$
any advice having these parts in cheaper price would be great...
i have a lot of these parts for sale. reach out if interested. was a project i was working on but realized that unfortunately, BMW has 2 part numbers for the dash, 1 for the regular radio and 1 for both 6.5 and 8.8" screens. since i have the basic radio, it would require me to cut up my dash to fit the 8.8"....so the project, after buying all the parts, is over.
if anyone has any interest, PM me.
any idea if these would be the same parts for an f56? i have the 6.5" screen now and hate it.... lol. i want carplay.....

If one is happy to continue using the 6.5" display, do you think all that would be required to activate CarPlay is the Headunit and FSC Codes? Or is a touchscreen also required?
Like @6FT6 said the touchscreen isn’t necessary for CarPlay, as you can use the controller mostly just a preference. The important part is having the actual NBT EVO id5 head unit that allows for CarPlay to be used. I’ll leave here a link to the marketplace in which I’m selling my unit and non touch display so you can see CarPlay working.
understood.
thanks for the info guys
that why forums exist.
btw i see your HU was superseded by cat number 65128802925.
do you know of any changes ?
i am asking in order to choose better between the ECE ones in ebay
It's a little hard for me to read, but for sure HW needs to be 3.1 and build date should be late 2017. Currently shipped out my unit to get coded but my part number is 65128792249 and that has touch. Of course also important to make sure its a Mini one and not a BMW just because BMW doesn't have the blue gps antenna connector and instead uses an ATM module for that.
I have swapped my 6.5” screen for an 8.8” screen and coded without any issues. The thing is the led central instrument is not illuminating. I am not sure if it needs coding; wiring reconfigured in the plug or it is faulty.
My old ring is definitely working, just wanted to rule out coding and possibly the wiring configuration different between the 6.5” ring and the 8.8” version.

Cool, they are both the same. I did the exact same swap.
I have a 2017 S Convertible with the 8.8" visual boost. I would love to be able to swap out my unit for the touchscreen with ApplePlay. Has anyone successfully done this? The dealership says it can be done, but then again, they aren't able to tell me much about the unit that is in my car to begin with. It seems there is little to no support for MINI Connected. Kinda sucks!
Hi, My Mini Cooper CoiuntryMan F60 Radio VisualBoost came with a 6.5" faceplate and i wish to upgrade it to the 8.8" faceplate. Will this be a simple plug & play connection?.Will i face any issues since the connectors on the back of both units look the exact same.Has anyone done this?.Please advice & share your experiences.

i just did this last week on my F56 JCW and what i did first was remove my 6.5, turn the car on, make the below changes, and then plug in my 8.8". for my car, the Pink display cable fit as well as all the other connections....so yeah generally speaking, besides the 2 code changes, it's plug and play.
I want to upgrade the screen from 6.5" to the 8.8".I checked the connectors at the behind of both and they look exactly similar.I want to keep the head unit/radio and just swap the display from 6.5" to 8.8".Should this be possible?.Are the screens VIN locked?.Has anyone done this?.Is this a simple plug & play?.Should i expect any issues?.Please advice.Thanks.

Didn’t you ask this question already? Marco responded in detail, what are confused about exactly?
Yes.I am from Trinidad & Tobago.I have no information on the coding.Do they sell the code on a USB drive or something?.Can it be downloaded on a USB stick from online to update my cars computer?.Please enlighten.Thanks.
