I have the following parts for sale.
If anyone interested they can message me privately.
The buyer must check compatibility & be sure/research regarding....
....that these are the exact parts that they would need for their vehicle.
These parts are the Housing assembly & Trim Ring & Control assembly( worth an approx 500 US$ purchased new from dealer).
I also have BMW/ MINI COOPER SATELITE RADIO MEDIA UNIT MEDIA WIFI #6512-8718209 to sell.
I "believe" that this unit can fit many vehicles on the BMW MINI catalog and can enable the NBT EVO touch system when installed and VIN coded.
However i owe no responsibility regarding its features or uses.
The buyer will have to research regarding suitability of this part for their vehicle.
You can message me in private if you are interested in the purchase.
Thanks Varma. I'm looking to buy a JCW F56 and I have CarPlay in my current car and would really like to buy a Mini (without buying a 2019) and add it.
Thanks Varma. I'm looking to buy a JCW F56 and I have CarPlay in my current car and would really like to buy a Mini (without buying a 2019) and add it.
Varma gave some good info but there are a few misleading things.
1. If your car has the basic radio that's not 6.5" or 8.8", you will need to make mods to you dash from what I've been told
2. A touchscreen is in no way necessary for CarPlay
3. Depending on the year of your vehicle, the F56 and F60 carry different versions of the led ring and housing. The F60 sticks out more from the dash as opposed to the F56. You can still use the F60 led ring and housing in an F56 but you may end up with a squeaky dash.
4. There is no need to purchase new buttons, just use what's ever in the car currently
Hola buenas
quiero instalar en mi f56

mi coche lleva instalado una pantalla 6,5 sin navegador
aparte de esto q mas necesito?
edpeto me podáis ayudar
You will need:
1-Hazard Button,
2-Housing assembly(6.5" or 8.8"),
3-Display screen(6.5" or 8.8"),
4-Radio control Button,
5-Trim Ring (6.5" or 8.8"),
6-Led Blind Ring(6.5" or 8.8").
The Common part for both the 6.5" & the 8.8" set up is the Radio control button, otherwise the parts of one size are not interchangeable with that of the other.
Apart from this if you are upgrading/downgrading the screen size, you will need to code it, which is a simple process, using an app & obd2 adapter.
If you are changing complete setup from R series to F series etc, that will need you to research deeper and change & recode the headunit as well.

donde se hace?
quien codifica la unidad ?

Once you have all the parts, first connect the screen and follow the 4 steps to do the coding. The steps for the coding are listed extensively on this thread and the 8.8" screen should come alive!.If you do the wrong codes, you can damage the car headunit. If you are not sure, take help from a BMW coding expert, but not very difficult.
The BimmerCode App, you need to buy the full version by paying one time fee to do these steps.
I have opened up my speedometer on my MINI cooper F60 and changed the faceplate from miles to a fancy one with kms/hr.
Everything works well, except the speedometer needle which keeps resetting to a point below the zero kms/hr label.
I have tried placing the needle at different point but each time i connect, it resets to its home point which is a few notches below the zero.
What can be done solve this problem?.
Can anyone help?.Thanks.

Can you gently pull the needle off? If so, let it go to the home point it wants, remove it, and then reattach pointing to the zero.
This looks like an idea, i will try.Thanks.
I plugged it in, when the zero fell below zero, i raised the needle to zero and it worked>i switch off and switch on the engine and the needle was back at below zero!.
I also enclosed a small video clip.
A BMW technician says, that the machine need to be coded and re calibrated using ista.
Steps for disassembly for a Speedometer/Instrument cluster Mini Cooper F60.
#1-Notice 2 rubber stoppers covering the torx screws on either side of the speedometer.Remove them & unscrew the 2 torx & slide out the clock.Remove the ECU cable at the back.
#2-Three screw holding the back plate & 6 screws holding the bottom plate and both of them will come out.But the back plate has a tiny cable for the speaker connecting to the board.Unplug the speaker cable from the board, unscrew(1 screw) the board from the back plate. Both the back & bottom plastic cover will now come off.The screws are of different sizes and must remember the sequence. The threading is easy to damage due to repeated screw & unscrew.
#3-The board should now be free from the plates. The board has 2 ribbon cables connecting it to the cluster. If you can be careful you should be able to leave them alone and work your way.If you doubt, unplug the 2 ribbon cables & be safe. Both the cables are different mechanisms of being held to the board.I was able to flip the black plastic tab & remove one of the ribbon cable, did not bother with the other.
#4-There are metal clips holding the front case to the cluster.Insert guitar picks into the space of each metal clip around the cluster as you pull them back, so that they do not snap back. The front casing should pop off.
#5-The plastic clear case is held by plastic tabs around the cluster.Push down each tab and the case pops out.The display cover of the fuel gauge should also fall off. There is a black case around the gauges and that should be a easy to remove.Nothing holds the fuel guage and black casing. After removing the case use a air duster to clear the space of any particles.
#6-Do not touch/clean the speedometer faceplate with any kind of alchohol as it will remove & damage the paint on the face plate.
#7-Remove the needle by holding it gently and pulling it upward.Remove the old face plate and replace it with your new fancy plate. At this moment gently push back the needle 1/4 way into the internal spindle, do not snap it.Carry the mechanism with the ribbon cables connected to the car and plug the ECU.The ECU will reset the needle to below zero.unplug & replug to make sure the ecu reset the needle. Now gently remove the needle and place it at zero, unplug and replug the ECU cable to make sure the needle does not drop to zero.Once you are sure that the ECU understands the needle to be at Zero>remove the ECU cable.Snap the needle firmly into the clock spindle.
#8-Now recheck the position of the needle by plugging in the ECU cable.During these steps it is sufficient that the ECU cable makes a gently contact with the pins, need not snap all the way inside.Be careful that you are not damaging the ribbon cables holding the cluster to the board. You may see error messages of "Drive Terrian error" & "Outside Temp" & "Bonnet Open" during this process of adjusting the needle and you should not be worried.
#9-Now reverse back all the steps.Black casing>Fuel guage in place>snap back clear case>snap back plastic case of front>put back rear cover>connect the speaker cable to board>screw back the board to back cover>put back the bottom cover>screw everything back to normal.
#10-This is a time consuming and delicate process and one must take time.
#11-Plug back the ECU & screw it into place & put back the rubber stoppers & the project is done. The machine will ask you to reset date & time and you should be good.
Hope this helps.
[/ quote]
hola buenas
como configuro la unidad principal
para ponerle mi número vin
Ya compré el BimmerCode y El obd
como se codifica la unidad? O tengo q poner un emulador?
Plug the OBD2 adapter into the OBD2 port on your car & Open the full version of the Bimmercode App on your phone & it will connect via Bluetooth to the adapter.
Inside the APP, you need to go to expert mode & do 4 steps that are shown on this discussion forum & hit code button.
I cannot babywalk you any detail than this.
If U are unsure take help from a BMW Coding expert & avoid damaging your headunit.
Otherwise, it is that simple, no emulator needed.

Ok so I have sourced a 8.8 touch screen and the correct nav head unit for my f56. Coding was done on the head unit for my car. I’m wondering what other pieces I’m going to need to install this into my Cooper s. I have the 6.5 boost system. Do I need new led ring and housing? Any cables? What do I need to make sure my usb still works?
I know this is a very old subject but i recently came across this forum because i will like to retrofit my 2017 - F57 -6.5 non touch screen to a 8.8 touchscreen +carplay... as i’ve been reading is doable and some users have done it... i understand also that in order to accomplish this retrofit some spare parts and coding needs to happen... i’ve manage to find a whole set on ebay which has a touchscreen, headunit, housing, control unit and all other parts that i need for this project..
i have two main questions at this point... is there any tutorial to flash the headunit for the following:
1) to match my vin #
2) to activate carplay
3) and to have the correct f57 graphics
i dont mind send this unit to a reputable coder or ideally do it remotely (if possible)... I've not approached bimmertech because i read somewhere they want big amounts of money for the coding/flashing of the head unit... and that is a bit expensive next to other accessories needed for this mod.
