Got a link to the one you purchased? Would love to compare so that I can mentally prepare if I run into the same issues.
However, at the same time I'm hoping it's going to be different because it has at least a built in canbus along with other built in features that I hope will work from the get go.
Hi i'm new to the forum and new to this I have bought the same screen but from seicane.com, i've connected everything but sound has been my problem, please if you could guide me through this process. i bought the same as jiggersplat

Mine has it, I belive its a blue cable becasue it says amp con I am going to add fotos, if it was it for the amplifier where should I connect it ? I've been searching but nothing comes arround
I've scrolled through nearly every post in this thread, and I am a bit overwhelmed by how many options there are. Is there one of these bajillion head units that most people can agree is the best choice, or are they all kind of the same?
It seems like one of the few that actually ships from North America, plus they have installation videos on their page, but I haven't heard much about it otherwise.
I finally managed to find the 12v signal that triggers the amp but I got new problem guys don't know what it is. When im in any gear except Reverse the screen pop some kind of danger sing, if somebody knows what is happening please let me know I would be grateful, this is the only thong that stops from putting everything together.
Something is backwards. It thinks you are in reverse and is trying to activate the backup camera. Poke around in the menus and see if you can find a setting to disable the backup camera. FWIW, I ***think*** it is an orange wire that goes from the CD player/head unit to the screen that triggers the switch to the backup camera. The head unit is supposed to detect when the car is in reverse from CANBUS and then puts 12v on the orange wire. If you have to, you can cut that wire and the splice the piece that goes to the screen to the reverse light wire on the footwell module, or if you don't have a backup camera just leave it disconnected.

Is the loose end going to the CD player? Try just grounding it and see if that helps.
Chime module
Red & black are power and ground. Pink/Blue and the one below it are CAN-H and CAN-L. Don't recall which one is which and apparently I didn't write it down anywhere.
For anyone curious, Pink is CAN-L, Pink/Blue is CAN-H
I installed the (lc-bmrc-01). Works a treat after mucking with it for an hour. Here's the hookup.
Only wires required to the unit when using an android radio.
Yellow
Black
Pink
Blue/pink
You can cut away the full harness and JUST KEEP THESE CABLES LISTED ABOVE.
Install:
***I connected to the radio side of the harness as not to screw up the factory harness***
Disconnect the battery (I didn't, but it goes without saying)
Connect the black ground wire to pin 12 (massive black wire) on the mini harness
Connect the yellow wire to pin 15 on the mini harness (big yellow thick wire)
Connect blue/pink wire to pin 9 from the mini harness (color varies it seems)
Connect the pink wire to pin 11 from the mknk harness (color varies it seems)
Troubleshooting:
If you're not getting the chimes, check that the pink wire is connected. It needs both pink and blue pink to make the noises.
Thoughts:
Suck part is, I was hoping to get turn signal noises also because the one from the aftermarket radio sucks and stutters and sometimes goes 10 seconds after signals are off. Oh well. BTW, I confirmed this with the manufacturer. It doesn't do turn signal noises.

Quick question. Does anywhere know where the 12v reverse light wire is in the front of the car? My unit has a short plug coming out that's for the 12v reverse light wire. Usually you would tap from the trunk side but since the short cable originates from the unit, I'm guessing there's a 12v reverse light cable somewhere in the front side where the headunit is...

You don't need it with CANBUS but if you really want it, tsp to he FRM in the driver's door well.
Apologies for posting this but after reading this thread and looking elsewhere, I haven't seen a definitive answer regarding installing one of these units in a 2010 R55 with the factory Nav. Mine has the second "slot". Anyone know if there is an option for this?
