Need help updating R53 Nav with a Mac

Hey everyone, I tried following the sticky at the top of the page, but it seems that all the X5 links for the actual firmware are just links to a site with a bunch of other links and no actual files? Also, the sticky says to use Nero for burning the DVD. Nero for Mac doesn't appear to be a thing. Has anyone successfully done this with a Mac?

the links are old...nero, even on windows is long gone...
it is just a windows program to burn dvd/cd's...no longer needed since that functionality was built into windows years ago...
the good news...if you can find the most current files, just make a disk...but the support stopped a few years ago...so the maps are nla...so check the version...they MIGHT be the most current.

Does anyone have a link to the latest firmware that was developed? I have a set of 2015 discs on the way but would like to update the firmware as well. It's for my R53.

4-1/00 is the final OS version. There are no further OS updates.

Do not confuse OS updates with map updates.

I have a set of 2015 High Nav DVD's on the way. Will the 4-1/00 update be included on those discs? I read in another thread that it was included on the 2013 DVD's?

Okay, after a couple hours of searching through forums, I finally found the .iso of the most recent version. It really doesn't look any different while still using my 2005 DVD, but my 2015 DVD's should be delivered this afternoon.

BTW, I was able to download the .iso from http://neiloakley.com

I also read somewhere that this newer version enables the coolant temp to display somewhere? Where can I find this??

I don't think newer firmware is required. Try the diagnostic screen: Go into the settings screen, then press and hold the Menu button for 10 seconds.

I also just noticed that I don't have Night Mode or 3D Perspective view. I thought both of these were possible on the MKIV nav? Are these in Ver. 32.2 rather than just 32?

Not sure about night mode, but 3D view is in a hidden menu. I found instructions on NAM and tried it out. It looks a little better, but you lose the tagging of upcoming streets. I mainly updated my NAV to have the warning message cancel automatically after a few seconds.

Coolant temp display?

For perspective, you have to do the settings & hold menu for 10 sec, then scroll down until you see 'perspective' to enable it.
