Buy or No???

Just looked at an 03 S with 120k and everything seemed fine except...

1) When AC on car idles horribly..... and makes weird noises but AC is cold
2) Timing tensionor seemed to be bouncing around pretty good
3) Runs great and boosts nicely ... motor seems solid.

And the e brake wasnt working.....

Any advice would be great .. the guy is asking 38 right now

is got the LSD and GPS system as well... guy says it needs updating ? and also where is the temp gauge on the r53s with nav?

IMO

GPS/NAV is one of those options where you deduct $1000 it's now obsolete by smart phone standards.

More than likely does not have a limted slip. That option was not out until 05-06 if I recall and the take rate was very very low.

The A/C is another deduct a $1000 to fix properly.

Why deduct 1000 for the car having the NAVI option?

Despite what NADA and KBB say it's obsolete. MINI if I recall is no longer supporting any new updates to the firmware. It's not a value added option.

The reason i say deduct $1000 is the cost of replacing it with a new speedometer and tach and ancillaries. Plus the programming.

So basically it is just a waste of space. On the 03 I was looking at there was no temp gauge either.. Is this normal ? or is there a way to show it somewhere??
