2007 MCS - Bluetooth doesn't show in device list??
Hello everyone!
I recently picked up an R56 for my wife and can't seem to get either of our iPhone 6's connected. They connect just fine on my factory bluetooth VW.
When I start pairing on the factory navigation, the 'Mini*****' does not show up on the device list on the phone.
Has anyone experienced and resolved this? I've spent the past 4 days searching the all-knowing internet, but I haven't found anything yet.
Thanks for the help!

You can check your cars build list at www.bmwarchive.org. You will want to check for the bluetooth kit. Some german to english translation may be in order.
More than likely you don't have bluetooth. MINI ads the buttons on the multi-function steering wheel, MFSW, but that is independent of the needed packages to use bluetooth.
There are options. secs tuning has a retrofit kit I believe. Others carry it as well. I had a car that didn't have the bluetooth but it had the buttons. I added a 3rd party kit from Parrot and it worked well.

in other words
all 2007 have the buttons if they have the fancy steering wheel
but the actual 'thing' was an option . . .
my 7'S had the buttons and I did NOT have BT . . .
you can go to a dealer and they can tell you what the car was built with . . .

Great info everyone, thank you. I will check the build list.
If I'm understanding you all correctly, it is possible to have factory navigation but not Bluetooth? I can open the Bluetooth options and it is check marked for being 'on'

I checked the link and the car is equipped with bluetooth. What is this I've read that only so many devices can be connected before the system locks up?
Is this true or should I be pursuing another troubleshooting path?

You need to go into the Phone options in the radio in order to start the Bluetooth Pairing. I'm not 100% sure on the exact steps, but it should have "BT" as a label on one of the multi-function buttons below the screen. I am 100% sure that the manual gives a good detailed step-by-step.

My memory of the early R56 Nav system w/bluetooth is failing me, but should be similar to late versions in number of phones it can have paired. I would delete "paired " phones and try to pair new one. R56 and R56 LCI would only allow 2 phones to be paires whil R56 LCI with Navigation or MINI Connected woul allow 4 paired phones.
