Removing OBD Footwell panel to access X9331

Am I retarded or something? I'm about ready to just cut that stupid panel off. It's not budging. How the hell is it supposed to come off? Thanks to how uncommon these cars are I can't find **** for references.

Excuse the attitude, I just purchased an 09-S Turbo yesterday and already regret my decision. I literally hate this car now. I regret selling my miata. I regret looking up minis. I regret leaving mazda.

Do you have a picture of the panel you're referring to? Also what do you need into the X9331 module for?

I'm referring to the only panel that the x9331 is behind.

Front/Rear channel swap. I can't get to the connector.

Ok well that image doesnt work. Let me try again.

The panel in question.

Here's a link to the driving light installation how to, which has a couple pics in regards to removing those panels. You have to remove the side sill panel before you can get to the panels you need access to.

Then sell it and move on. Life's too short to get pissed off over something so stupid.

Or google integral audio and download their installation instructions. Basically, remove door seal, pop bottom panel loose then pop off kick panel. If it doesn't move, and everything is clear, pull harder. I'm not kidding.

The panel in question.
Remove the weatherstrip around door opening by pulling away from the edge.
Remove the lower panel by pulling out to the right.
The upper by your finger pulls straight towards the back.

I had to pull a LOT harder than I expected... and I looked up all those instructions and it never said to remove the stripping or what to do... just to remove the panel. I was pulling in the right direction the whole time... just took way more than I anticipated.

Long story short, I'm bringing the car back. The dealer made me sign the wrong forms, my finance lady printed me the wrong forms, basically: the car isn't mine. I'm getting intense motion sickness and dizziness from driving this car... I don't know if it's from driving a miata for 8 years and coming to a real car or if it's my eyes (both are -5 or below, legally blind w/o correction) and the peripheral aspect of the dash is messing with me, or what. I dont know. My finance company said they wont finalize if I don't feel safe so the dealer really had no choice. Hate to do it to them but I'm not gonna wreck this thing and risk my life because I signed my name on triplicate.

For someone with a screen name "noragrets" you sure seem to have a lot of them! Should of done what I did and kept your Miata and then just bought a MINI. Also I can say after 60K+ miles in my 97 Miata and then hopping into my MINI the car isn't causing the motion sickness. Good luck with your car return and leaving the MINI world, this was honestly one of the craziest rants and posts I've ever read! lol
