Some more subwoofer questions

well i wanna add some more bass to my MCS. i see some people have gone with the boss bass600. does anyone have any experience with the boss bass 1200 (10'')? also does anyone know how the blaupunkt THb 200A 8'' powered sub would compare to either of the boss subs?

thanks

I looked at the Bass1200, but k6rtm talked me out of it. I think the power requirements were higher, so you would have to do something other than tap into the rear cigarette lighter socket. The Bass600 seem quite sufficient for the MINI.

how much more bass do you need? you have stock speakers? hifi? if so, replacing them will give you more clarity and should offer decent mid-range bass. i thought i would definitely need some compact powered subwoofer, but after i got rid of my non-hifi tinny stock front speakers and replaced them with 6.5" JL 3-way coaxials, i am satisfied.

im gonna change the 6x9s soon and i guess after that i'll see how it sounds. i know since doing the switch so the 6x9s get the bass that has made a nice improvement. im hoping once i get some better speakers back there it will give me a little more bass. but as it stands now i just want a little more bass and im thinking something like the boss bass will do the trick. i just wish someone near me had it so i could hear what it sounds like

As Robin mentioned, one of the big differences between the 600 and its larger cousins is the 600 can safely be run from existing power wiring (the aux circuit in the boot), while the bigger ones need dedicated wiring.

For me at least, the 600 provides plenty of bass -- I can't turn it up all the way!
