Scosche BW2370b Dash kit - 5 mute wires?

Hello everyone! I'm trying to instal a new JVC Kameleon AVX44 DVD headunit w/built-in Bluetooth in my 02 MCS with/ factory mark 3 (cd-based) NAV. I bought a scosche BW2370 bdash kit w/fashia, antenna adapter and wiring interface. Everything makes sense to me except the wiring interface. Amoung the many wires are a total of 5 brown wires marked "mute". Now, I do see one corresponding wire on the JVC head unit harness marked "Tel mute", but that leaves 4 wires unspoken for. I do want this function to work as I plan to pair my bluetooth phone with this kit. I've installed head units before, but not with these functions. What's more is there is no instructions that came with this kit, (that's eBay for you :). Anyone know what these are for? I appreciate it...

...or were you referring to the wiring harness?

Is that part number for everything including the wiring harness? When I search for that part number I am only seeing the mounting kit.

Hello again Pondera,

I do have the manual for the headunit, but thanks Yes, it is the Scosche BW2370b Dash kit that I don't have the diagram for. And yes, that part number is for the whole kit (harness, faceplate, and antenna adapter.) I did try to install it yesterday, not successful yet, as it was draining my battery. I'll give it another go later. This head unit has a ton of connections, i.e. one huge harness! A word of advice to anyone else considering putting this into a 1rst gen, be patient with that bundle...

I LIVE IN CALIFORNIA and it is the law<-lol stupid law but yeah. This unit has a built in bluetooth and will also allow me to use my iphone and steering wheel controls...I am interested in how this goes for you.

Yeah sure jimzbobs! I probably won't be able to give this another shot until next weekend. I don't have the steering wheel interface just yet, but there is an output for one that appears to be a 3.5mm jack, prolly for one of the PAC branded SWIs. I hope to have all the wires worked out by then... This unit should be magic once it is all setup! I should note that I'm using the pre-outs and not the internal amp . I may even go 5.1 surround with it. Anyone put a center channel speaker in that cubby in front of the cigarette lighter?

You may have already checked this jimzbobs, but per jvc's bluetooth compatibility list, apple iphone isn't completely supported by this head unit.

check here:

It may do all that you want, but I'm just letting you know... I won't pretend to be a bluetooth expert, I most certainly am not, but I wanted voice dialing, and I am supposed to get that with my Motorola RAZR with this headunit, not to mention bluetooth stereo streaming...

i c... it is okay dont really need voice dialing i have a J/B phone so i have a click app that allows me to dial a # with one tap of the phone dont need to scroll. But is has everything else needed.. Basically all i need is the phone to work through bluetooth and a fully opperational ipod adapter to change music from steering wheel. Video would also be great if that can work through the usb adapter it comes with. But that might be pushing my luck a little. I am in school right now for automotive training. And by the time i pick this up i will already be in my electrical class so ill have a better knowledge of how things should work and be wired up correctly.
