Speaker Wiring

So i am going to take the input for the front low speakers from the factory amp to my new amp for my subs. My question is, how do i exactly wire it so...my front low speakers i took the input from are getting sound too?

So all in all, all speakers are getting sound + my subs, but i am getting the input for my new amp....from the inputs of the front low speakers.

What you have stated does not make much sense.

Can you please tell us what the type of stereo system you have in your car. Is it that standard or the HiFi.

The reason i ask is that wiring will be different depending on the systsem you have.

Let us know this info and we can help you out more.

I apologize. Its the standard system. My plan is to take the 6" front speaker inputs / signal that goes to the factory amp. for my subs.

I am just wondering how i wire it so i get signal to my subs, and i have signal / sound still going to my 6" speakers. I am asking for wiring directions.

The best thing to do to start with is to follow the directions in this thread

First of all this will increase the bass in your system by a factor of great proportions. This moves that bass signals to the rear speakers that can handle it. The front speakers are just not made for low bass frequencies,

If this is not enough bass for you then what you want to do is to take the wires from the rear speakers and send those to your amp. They now have full range frequencies, including the bass. You then just hook those to your amp with line level inputs or to a line level converter and then to you line level input amp. The out put of the amp can the go to your sub

This will allow the front door speakers to do what they are meant to do, produce mid and high frequencies and all will play just fine. And you do not have to mess with the front doors and wiring into them.

Oh this is good! So i read i have to pop out 8 or the 12 wires. Which ones? :S

and if i hook this up to my new amp.. Will my rear 6x9's recieve no sound? Or how i will i give them both sound (my sub and 6x9's?)

All the information needed is is not in that thread yet but should be over the next few days. There are 8 wires that need to be moved.

Check back in a day or to and look at post 1 the wiring changes should show up soon

You would have to have a 4 channel amp two channels to drive the 6x9's and two to drive a dual coil sub or two single coil subs.

make sure your amp will do the same ohms bridged into one channel from the 2 channels of the amp the sub requires and/or can be set into low pass mode.....

You can drive a 10" and make it sound like two 12's but I don't think in this case in this application is a smart option...better to dedicate amps to sets of speakers...granted some amps are built to do this..always creeps me out...I prefer one amp for interior and one amp for low frequency drivers..more work but you know what to look at if something goes wrong...IMO.

Also you need to worry about wiring this amp properly....lots to plan before you just drop in and go forward....

First--

Do the front/rear speaker swap. You need to move 8 of the 12 wires in the male end of the X9331 connector. Gory details provided in the other thread. Check your work before, during, and after!

While you're at it --

I just installed a sub. I connected 4 wires for the sub at the X9331 connector, connecting them to pins 3, 4, 5, and 6. Since I'm an electronics geek, I used a CAT5 cable that wasn't in use -- this is an 8 wire cable, 4 twisted pairs, and you only need 2 pairs. Twisted pairs are ideal for this application, as it's a balanced signal, and the use of twisted pair wiring will minimize noise pickup from other wiring. Also leaves me 2 pair free if I decide at a later date to put an amp in the boot for the whole thing.

Connect to pins 3, 4, 5, 6, (solid mechanical connection, then solder), and then secure the new and old cables together with something such as cable ties or electrical tape so that things can't be pulled loose or otherwise damaged. Reassemble your connectors.

You can run the wires along the left side of the car, under the plastic interior trim, back to the boot. This means you're probably going to have to remove the back seat again, but after a while, you get good at it. You don't have to take off B and C pillar covers to get the back seat out!

When you connect the wires to your LOC or to the high-level input of your sub's amp, make sure you have the phasing correct.

How did the sub sound?

Do you mind providing pictures or a diagram of your wiring? Sorry to pest you! but that just sounds like a good idea, and i want to see if i am visualizing what you are saying.
