Just confirming Kusa installation instructions
OK, so I just got my Kuda navi dash mount it looks simple enough, but I just wanted to confirm - I'm picking up my used 2005 MCSa and roadtripping it about 300 miles home.
As the kuda description is just a few photos, can someone please confirm that all I will really need is a thin paint spatula to tuck it until the dash air vent and that's it?
Is that the only tool that I will need?

I have the Kuda mount and I didn't need anything to install mine, you should be able to slide it under the dash vent....very easy and should take less than a minute to install.....it's much better than using the suction cup mount.....
Use a screw?
Has anyone used a screw when mounting the Kuda dashtop base to the dash? I just got one, haven't yet installed it. In the tab that goes under the vent on top of the dash, the mount has a hole, and it came with a screw for that hole. Posts I've found here say all say just slip the tab under the vent, slip the other tab between the dash top and the dash face by the center speedo, and it stays in place. Anyone take off the vent and put in the screw? Sorry no photo. I'll post one if it helps.
hmmm - i don't think that i got a screw, but i would am very interested to hear the response, as it might minimize potential rattles.
let me know if you decide to install it with the screw - I don't see how it could hurt.

I didn't use the screw, and I really don't know how I could get the Kuda mount back off if I needed to - it's that secure. I do remember another poster saying he used the screw because his Kuda mount was too loose otherwise, but I can't imagine how.
I basically slipped one tab under the edge of the oval dash vent, and the other under the front lip of the dash and pushed for all I was worth. The tabs "snapped" into place, and the mount's been solid ever since.

Same experience as Scotty here...mine's as solid as a rock with just the tabs. I like to avoid making extra holes in my MINI's interior at all costs (though I did use the bolts--vice the screws--to secure the ball mount to the Kuda base for added strength and longevity).
Thanks all,
I installed the Kuda dashtop mount without the screw, just slipped its tab under the dashtop vent. When I move the GPS unit around on the mounting ball, the dashtop mount does move a little, but when using the touch screen it doesn't. I think it'll be fine that way, as you've found, and on an '05 it looks like too much work to remove the dashtop to install the screw.
