Soundproofing install

Been getting ready for my stereo upgrade/install. I purchased some B-Quiet soundproofing and have installed it behind the rear speakers, rear cargo area around the battery. I now want to cover the area beneath the rear seats. As this area is semi visible beneath my custom rear seat delete panel. I would like to do a neat/clean job. What is the best way to tackle it. Using strips of the soundproofing? Any help appreciated...

You might like to talk to Ian Cull of http://www.gbmini.net/wp/2007/02/dynamat_extreme/ and tell him I sent you!

Finished my stereo install and reinstalled all my interior panels...
My car is definitely quieter now with the soundproofing. It is not a drastic change, but a small change for the better. Even closing the doors feel more solid. Bought 50 sq. ft and went thru all of it...

what specifically did you cover with 50sq ft?
I'm getting ready to buy some deadening and want to know how much to get.
did you do both front doors, rear side panels, hatch, side panels in hatch, and floor?

Yes, both front doors, back of front door panels, lots in behind the rear 6x9 and closed this area off from the rear area, just a couple of pieces on the rear side panels, couple small pieces in rear hatch, two layers on rear floor/under rear seat. Have a couple of small pieces left over...

I'm sound proofing mine as well to reduce the amount of noise in the cabin. I was working off this thread before seeing yours.

I bought this material

After reading this excellent writeup about the pros and cons of the different available materials. The asphalt material especially hit home because my car gets incredibly hot out in the sun, and I don't want the material liquefying.

I also took the hatch cover off and put sound deadner in there. If you have a sub it will vibrate if it hit fairly hard.

Has anyone been able to soundproof the doors in an '07 S? My shop says it will be real tough. I already had them do the rest of the car, but obviously the doors are a major area of noise-infiltration.

Thanks.
