Navigation & Audio Bluetooth compatibility list
Hi All,
I've reviewed the great spreadsheet by Nicknbecka which helped immensely with my last phone but am contemplating either the Verizon samsung fascinate (droid platform) or Droid x. It appears that the Droid x is the safer choice however I was wondering if anyone has even tried the fascinate yet.
I may stop by a Verizon store and see if they will let me try it out in my 09 MCS.

Have you been able to get it to pair at all? Can you dial or answer calls with it otherwise?
Also of note is that on the Droid X only contacts in the "Phone Contacts List" will transfer. You will need to make sure that in the contact that one of the "Linked Contacts" is listed as "Phone Contacts". All other contacts that are listed as Facebook, Skype or some other Social Networking will not show up if they do not also have a "Phone Contacts" Linked Profile.
Has anyone heard if any of the new Windows Phones are bluetooth compatible with the MINI? I'm thinking about switching over/upgrading from my iPhone 3G to the new Samsung Focus, but if it isn't going to work in my car...
great write up.. been following it for a while to see all the updates, thanks everyone for there time...
My issue: ok I got my HTC Incredible to pair with the bluetooth no problem... I can not seem to sync the address book though. The spreadsheet indicates this is possible but the NAM member did not specify if they indeed sync'd the address book or not nor have i found any post saying this was done. I have the factory Nav installed and can not. can anyone confirm who has this phone if this can be done?

I have the new Windows Phone Samsung Focus. The address book sync'd up and loaded to Nav (displays name followed by number and if it's (h) or (m)). It sync'd up without any problems and I have made called and received calls using the bluetooth.
Thank you!
Finally got my nexus one (froyo) working. Took me about an hour to figure out that it would only pair with when the mini sent the code 0000. But now it works great! Anyone else know if 0000 is the standard code for all android phones?

Are you able to stream music through bluetooth ? My phone claims that it is doing it, but nothing comes out of the audio system of the Mini.
I've also tried plugging my Nexus One into the USB port, but it doesn't even recognize it. Same with my wife's phone, which is a Nexus One as well.
thanks!
azOrange - All I can really do is make phone calls. I couldn't even get my address book over, actually.
The first time I used the GPS on my phone it started right up through the cars speakers (I was very excited) but then went back to the phone's sound after about a minute. So, I'm betting it should work with music too but I'm waiting until gingerbread comes out to really start fooling around with it.

My phone asks me if it should 'Turn on USB Storage' and therefore show up as a mass storage device. I enable it like I would on my PC, but the Mini never seems to see it. Plugging into USB worked fine with my son's iTouch, outside of the whole Mini connected part.
@Alexander, which phone are you using that doesn't sync the address book?

On an unrelated note, the MyTouch 3G Slide running CyanogenMod 6.1.1 syncs the address book and works correctly for dialing.
1. SD card MUST be formatted as FAT If not it will not work with the MINI.
2. Make sure under "Settings > SD Card & Phone Storage" the SD card is "Mounted" while NOT connected to the MINI
3. USB Debugging may need to be turned on or off "Settings > Application Settings > Develpoment > USB Debugging"
Also of note is that if the phone is using the SC card for its contact list then when you connect it to a computer or the MIN the phone will no longer be able to see the contact list as only one device can use the SD card at a time, I.E. the phone is mounted to the car or the computer is mounted to the card.
I have an Acer Liquid E (running on Rogers in Canada) and it pairs perfectly with the MINI.
I have also installed a Parrot Minikit Smart which is BT enabled, but it is paired only with the phone as an audio-out device (like headphones), not with the MINI. Incoming calls are handled by the MINI, but turn-by-turn navigation is sent to the Parrot's speaker. Slick.

There may be a number of reasons why this is not working.

Check the card to make sure there is no AutoStart Software for some reason.
I know on some USB sticks such as the Sandisc Cruizers there is some OEM software that make them not work with the MINI. Once that software is removed they work great.
For the sake of full disclosure, it is on the 2011's (at least the ones with Connected, can't be sure about those with just standard Bluetooth)... Been using A2DP to stream Pandora from my Samsung Vibrant (T-Mobile Galaxy S).
Not quite as good as if they'd get Connected working for Android, but beats using a wire.

So far there appears to be no problems at all.
