I have a 2006 MCS with the Harmon Kardon Radio. I am thinking about the OEM ipod adapter kit that goes in the glove box. Does this kit show the artist and track names on the radio display?

The OEM iPod adapter does not display artist and track names. The installation is pretty easy if you are comfortable with modding. You can find some information here including a link to the official instructions: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=85569

The OEM adapter is very limited in function. You should consider the DICE kit: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=88570

The Factory version is pathetic to say the least - no information, specific named playlists only and expensive.

The AUX input works great and although pricy for what it is ($40) is my prefered solution.

+1

The functionality of the DICE kit is a MAJOR improvement over the OEM option. Novels on the topic have been written in other threads, but here's the recap: The DICE kit will give you text display on the radio, OEM won't. The DICE kit will allow you to use iPod controls to navigate through music, OEM won't. The DICE kit allows you to listen to all your music, OEM limits you to a few specific playlists.

I did the DICE install myself over the weekend. It took me about an hour and required no training, background knowledge, or power tools.

All good points - you're really be missing out if you didn't order the DICE with a text-compatible radio.

Another pro-DICE guy here. I've been loving mine since I installed it, which took all of 10 min. including anchoring the cable w/ velcro.
