I have installed "fixed" MTH maps on a few cars and have not heard of any re occurance of the problem.. my mth map was never corrected for 0128 because I had never had the problem before this week..

When installed the driver recomended by sensolution I don't see the Virtual Com Port in the Device Manager, I only see USB Serial Port (Com5) listed. Is that what I should get when installed?

It's been a few months since I installed my USB, but yes that is what I remember.

 

My endyn kit was installed this week. Upon about 20 miles of test drive, a P0172 jumped out.

Sent the details to Franz, including my past 3 dyno's so he can see AF ratios. Will advise if he was able to fix.

 

So USB Serial Port (Com5) listed in the Control Panal is correct??

Yes, that is correct, or at least that is what my Dell is carrying and it works for me. I did a flash yesterday to a chili red.

 

I have just got the Sensolution cable and it's work like a charm. I have never been able to use Sasha cable before, I always got the "echo is missing", "unable to open come port" errors.

However, the files down loaded were zip file and .org file. Do I send those files to him?

Yes, use the upload page to send those files.

 

The "zip" file actually has a ".mim" extension, but that extension is associated with WinZIP by default. If you turn off the "hide file extensions" option in Windows Explorer, you should see the proper extension. It's really just a text file containing your VIN and other vehicle info.

yes you should have received an email with the keycode

 

I've got an email which I believe it is a sale recipt, however it is writen in German:

Buchungsnummer # 1-xxxxxxxx
Auth. # xxxxxx

Not sure if they are the Keycode

 

work colleage translated the Buchungsnummer as your credit card authorisation. The other word he translated as your keycode.

The key-code is originally given from a pop-up window when choosing to download Cartune and then paying. Pop-up blockers may prevent you from ever seeing it.

Franz is very good about these issues. Reply to him using the receipt page(showing that you've paid) and ask him for a keycode. He will send you one relatively quickly.

I followed the link but it's look like the login page. I did login but I didn't see any things that will generate the keycode from my VIN without having to pay. Please advise me.

 

After login it said "no more free KEY-CODES available"

 

You should never pay via the Payment link. It doesn't generate a KEY-CODE. That's only for paying an invoice (probably not for end-users).

After you register, receive your username and password, and then login, you should pay at the Download link. It will then pop up a new window with the KEY-CODE in large letters.

If you already paid at the Payment link or just can't find your KEY-CODE, do as JPit said: email Franz with your emailed receipt so he can manually generate a KEY-CODE for you.

I have just flashed my MCS JCW this morning, no problem so far. I will have it dynoed next week .

Just curious, should my ecu be the "Enging R50 with Siemens EMS 2K" or "Engine R53 with Siements EMS 7K"? When I loaded file from the disk the software show the "Enging R50 with Siemens EMS 2K" and it went through ok. Should I select the R53?

Lucky you I am on day 5 awaiting my next update from Franz.

 

I'm borrowing the serial port version cables from a friend but I don't think my laptop has a serial port. I could lug my desktop to my garage if needed but does anyone know if a USB to serial port adapter would work?

 

The standard answer is NO they dont work.. the reality is slightly different.. I have gone through 4 different usb-> serial adaptors.. out of those 4 I found one that works with the german serial cable.

Unfortunately, it does not have a brand name so I cant help you with that. I can tell you that it is a single piece, not a cable. and it works just fine.. I found my at Fry's in Manhatten Beach..
