It's a really nice MINI! I just think that people are starting to worry about the CVT problems in the 04's and at that price I know I would be worried. I could get an 06 GP for not much more than that even though it is a special edition, at that price I would just go for the GP without the CVT problems of the 04's. Hope my opinion helps, because really that's all it is, my opinion. I'm sure someone eventually will take you up on it. It's a nice little MINI.
Thanks for the input.
It is a 6 speed manual, so no CVT worries.
Is it too much money? If so, what is an attractive price?
I have no ideas how much the GPs of that vintage go for
I'm not keen to give it away, but I also hate to see it sit

I had an 04 manual and I have friends in my club that have 04's (manuals) and there are some serious problems when they get up in mileage with the transmissions that can end up being in the tune of 5-7 grand to fix. So that could be what is keeping the real miniacs away. I've been looking at buying an older mini back and I just think I'm going to stay away from anything before 05'. As to the GP's the 06's are starting to come up on the market and at around 75,000 miles you can pick one up for around 15,000. Real miniacs if they are looking for a special edition will probably go for the GP. You also have to look at where you are selling it. Midwest might be harder to get people to understand what you have in that MINI. Pricing is up to you, but if you have had it listed on several websites with no bites, you might want to try dropping it. Couldn't hurt, if you are really trying to unload it.
Thanks again for your input. So, in your first post, you suggest that it is wise to stay away from CVT cars. Then in your second post, the manual gearbox cars are even more problematic....

Yeah, I know. I guess those first gen's they were just working the bugs out in. Happens with every new generation. Like with the countrymen, they just figured out the clutch problems, the 2013's are the first with the new clutches in them. The old ones were giving out sometimes with as little as 15,000 miles on them. I hope you find someone to buy her. She really is pretty.
LadyMay: I think you are misinformed. Yes the Gen1 Justa CVT was a problem. Yes the 5-speed Midlands on Gen1 Justas were a problem. But the 6-speed getrag in the Gen1 MCS has been pretty reliable.
