New to Minis

Hi All, I'm new to Mini Cooper. I just bought a 2004 and beside the CVT problem and starting problem it's in excellent condition. I bought this car for cheap and intend to have it back on the road doing everything by myself (like usual). I've always been attracted to these great cars. So I'll be posting desperately asking for help and trying to help others after.

Good luck replacing the CVT. I'm sure that you got a good price on the car. Pics?

I've heard of a few people fixing the CVT transmissions by themselves. Good luck!

I can't wait either but first I must take care of the 911 that is just behind the mini on the pix. I did'nt notice that my photo was so out of focus :( Like many air cooled engine cars it's hard to have one dry.

new mini owner

hi guys, bought the 02 cooper s about 3 months ago. The other night i was driving down the road and it died. Acted like it was out of fuel. I have replaced the fuel pump, filter. Still wont start. Looking through the book and forums, crank sensor and cam sensor are also potential problems. So I replaced both and still will not start. Any ideas?

Now is your chance to swap it to a manual. Much more cost effective and more reliable long term.

Good question about changes to the car's electronics.

I'm sure that Way Motor Works will sell you the kit.

I have a question : do all the Mini Coopers come with a white top ? Mine has been painted blue (the same color than the car). All the photos I found have white tops.

For 1st Gen models you had a choice of white, black or body color. Silver was also a choice on 2005 and 2006 models.
