Who was the new black MINI driving east on Hwy 66 in Longmont at 8 this morning? Don't see many MINIs around here.

I just got my MINI. She's an 04MCS from Brooklyn. She don't got no accent though. Anyway...there's a twin MINI I've seen in my neighborhood parked near 12th & Marion. It's Indy blue with black bonnet stripes and sunroof, just like mine. It's got more stuff than mine though. Rack on top and lights out front. And it has Arapahoe County plates.

Um, mine is the one with temporary tags.

Let's get friendly

I get a wave from about every 5th Mini I see here in the Denver. Having been working and driving in the Houston and Dallas, TX area's the sceen is much different. People go out of their way to wave and honk at fellow Mini drivers. It's much more friendly in TX. Being a Denver native it saddens me that people in Denver have become so up tight and full of them selves. It really brightens up my day when I get a wave back here in Denver. Come on folks, give me a wave. After all, driving a Mini is about positive attitude.

Are there more Minis in Texas, or are they more rare?

I saw a nice looking grey/silver (didn't catch the exact color) on Friday afternoon (4:45pm) turning west off of 287 just south of Berthoud. A month from now and you'd better be waving (back) at me.

I was passing through your fair state Saturday and Sunday, and I saw quite a few MINIs. Waved at them all, but got nothing in return. What's up with that?

Hey, I wave. I don't get many returns. I was on E470 driving towards DIA, one silver MINI, to far across the highway. On the way back I saw a nice CR Cabrio going through the toll gate towards DIA as I returned.

I have noted that a lot of MINI drivers in our fair state are commuters and not MINI enthusiasts.

Hi Don, I was on E470 both days and saw lots of MINIs. Sad that no one returned the wave. Also saw quite a few on I25 headed south, but no love.

I saw a chili red cabrio downtown today on NB Speer.

Yesterday I saw a mint green MC (not S) near 92nd and Sheridan in Westminster in the Starbucks/Einstein Bagels parking lot.

I can't really wave yet since I was in my A6 and they would probably look at me funny. I'll be able to soon though...

Two more on the way home tonight, both MCCs (top's up)! A gorgeous red one headed north on 287 between Longmont and Berthoud at 4:18pm, and then a snazzy silver devil headed east on 17th Ave in Longmont between Airport and Hover at 4:35pm. It doesn't take me that long to travel between those two locations, but I had to stop off at the pack & ship store on my way back into town because my 9 year old Valentine One got shipped out for a nice little upgrade as I prepare for my MCS to arrive. Turns out that driving a soft-top Jeep (held together with velcro and zippers) around for the past seven years didn't really afford me the opportunity to keep the V1 up and running in the Wrangler. But things are gonna change, I can feel it!

The V1 is a good investment in my opinion. I got pulled over twice this year before my V1 and have had no problems since.

But since we're on topic I just want to give a shout out to Shannon (who'se forum name I don't know) and say thanks for the drag in Westminster Sunday. It's nice to run into familiar faces on the road.

I was going down to the local Mo's Bagel shop this AM on McCaslin.

At the corner of Via Appia/McCaslin, a very nice black on black MCS was making a turn to the east. I could not see a wave as the windows were limo tint (I mean really dark).

Of course I was driving Scooter, DS/W with UK accessories!

I waved, anyone here own that sharp MINI?

On Wednesday night, I got an exaggerated MINI wave from two pedestrians near Cheesman Park in Capitol Hill. I waved back!

I have a sad sad MINI sighting myself.

Today approximately 7:10 am at the intersection of Hampden and Logan, near Swedish Medical Center I saw a cooper cabrio in either red or orange. I'm not sure of the color because of all the emergency vehicles surrounding it; numbering one amublance, one firetruck and two Englewood police cruisers. The cooper was on it's wheels but I think her front end was way smashed up. I don't think she'll be driving away from that one.

So, if that's your car, then I'm sorry for the cooper; but I hope you're alright.

That's my sighting for today. Poor cooper.

Oh Japic, that is sad. I guess if you're going to get smashed, right by the hospital is good. There used to be an orange cabrio in my neighborhood owned by a doctor, but his family sold their Denver home (which was a second). I think he works on the west side of town, however. Poor MINI.

That is a sad tale for a MINI (and the owner). Hopefully all will be okay.

I see MINI's all over the place. I usually always try to wave. Usually their drivers have tunnel vision and don't wave back but others acknowledge us.
The best one was coming down from Evergreen last weekend into Morrison when a cute little yellow MINI was coming the other direction and we got honks and very happy waves!!!
So, to whoever that was - thanks!!!

They are all transplants! Us natives haven't changed but we only make up something like 30% of the population so...

Hmmm...

You know, I'm a native Austinite......maybe that explains my need to wave at other MINI's????
Like Dbyrd said - us Texans are a friendly bunch.

I saw a blue and white MINI going south on Jordan Road in Parker this morning (had to make a McDonalds run for a breakfast burrito, lol) - We both waved! I was the yellow and black MINI going north on Jordan Road. What a great way to start the morning!

Thursday @ Schomp

I was on the east side of town (Parker Rd & I225) for an appointment on Thursday after lunch and not a MINI in sight.

A bit later, I stopped by Schomp for to browse and a fuse (don't ask).

Lots of MINIs at Schomp.

While I was browsing, I noted Rudebox Cabrio and Tommy Z's MCS in the service lineup outside. Nice to see the MINIs, I hope it was routine service.

Btw, who was in the PW Cabrio coming back from a test drive as I was leaving, I was in the DS/W MCS. Big smile on your face.

Later in the early evening, I spotted a CR Cabrio going South on E470 as I cruised up to Louisville, I waved.

I think this is the second time I have seen this CR Cabrio on E470, nice clean Cabrio!

I'm staring at a CR/W 07 MCS out the window of Longmont's Brewing Market Coffee (Sunday morning). No stripes on the bonnet but a gorgeous chrome grille. Yowza!

Makes me hope this month'll fly by...

Gold/Black MINI

Took a little drive to set the new 16s on Scooter on Saturday afternoon.

Anyone here the Gold/Black MINI coming down 287 about 2pm on Saturday afternoon. I waved but the traffic motoring at 60 was a bit thick.

Enjoyed the country drive. Has anyone noticed that the Corner Gas station in Hygiene is advertising with a BIG sign they are pumping 93 octane.

Anyone buy gas at that station?

Yep, that was our RUDEBOX at Schomp. Time for his first servicing. Also had some scratches on the rear window that we thought happened with the top going up or down but Schomp confirmed that someone or something was the reason for the scratches. We got a chili red black hardtop loaner for the day. How nice it was to get RUDEBOX back!...6 speed (with pulley) and lovin it.
