I would try to get it covered...if it is worth the trip to Schomp for you. I had them replace my shift *** because the threads were coming out.

I made an appt for beginning of August. I am also going to have them go over the list of programmable items with me. I really wanted to go to the Broadmoor brunch next weekend but we are out of town.

Saw (and tagged) two new MINIs since Sunday - the one Sunday was a newer Chili Red MCS in Woodland Park at the Safeway, said hey to the driver as we passed, then carded him. Just tagged a BRG MCS at my neighborhood Safeway (see a trend here?!?) at Union and Academy. I know I tagged one more on Monday or Tuesday but I can't for the life of me remember where or what color. I did mention the Bishops Castle run to the guy in Woodland Park. . .hopefully he'll see this post or get details on 5280. . .

The Safeway connection?

Must be a trend! Sunday night I parked Bercilak next to a dark silver Cooper S near the Safeway at Ken-Caryl Ave and 470. I was going to drop a MINI5280 tag before I left, but by the time I returned from my errand she was gone.

Saw a DS/W MCS with a NAM sticker on my way into work today on Union between Austin Bluffs and Academy. I yelled "Nice Car!" to the driver and told him I'd be getting my MCS in 2 more weeks.

Was that any of you guys?

I was hoping I would hear from you on NAM. I am so stoked for you, dude. I hope you are planning on joining 5280 and participating in some of our activities. Its a total blast. We are a very open club and anyone who wants to plan rides can. While there are alot of MINI's here in town, there are only a handfull of us that are active NAMers. Let me know anytime I can help you with your MINI adventures. If you get your car in time you'll have to boogie through your break-in OVERNIGHT and join us for the track day at Pueblo on Sept 2nd. Should be a blast. Heck if nothing else you could always just show up and ride shotgun.

I'm definitely going to be joining 5280 and plan on being very active. I can't see how anyone can go through the wait to get their MINI without becomming active on NAM! I drove all my friends crazy from talking about MINIs too much within the first couple days of ordering! If NAM wasn't here for support through this painful, yet somehow, enriching wait, I don't know what kind of mess I'd be...

I'm hoping for delivery on the 29th, although I still don't know for sure. I'm picking mine up out of Kansas (They had a much shorter wait than Schomp), so the drive home will knock 600 miles off the break-in period. I'd definitely be down for some track action right off the bat, so I'll do my best to finish the remaining 650 miles asap!

I'll post some pics for you guys once my baby arives.

I shoulda tried them first. . .my new MINI is STILL sitting on the dock in Old Blighty. Ten days sitting there in the salt air and counting. . .

Of course, we had pretty exacting specifications. . .but maybe next time, I'll try another dealer, book a one-way flight. . .

Okay - WHO WAS IT???

Who was it I saw on I-25 South through COS around the Bijou/Fontanero area in the Cool Blue convertible on Sunday?? Couldn't tell - was a quick peek - was it an MC or MCS, and WHO WERE YOU????

I thought we'd be the first CB MCSC in COS. . .guess not. . .unless that Cool Blue was just passin' through. . .

I tagged a CR/W with stripes and a roof rack this AM (8/22) at an office complex next to the target on N. Academy.

Nice looking car. The color combo, stripes, and roof rack made it look very classic.

That one belongs to a contractor working in my office. I haven't had a chance to talk to him about his MINI yet. I'll have to try to find him tomorrow.

Wave and I'll wave back!
