Steering Wheel wrap from RedLine Accessories

RedLine Accessories/Goods ( www.redlinegoods.com ) has been the best at doing Shift and e-Brake boots for quite sometime, and has gone into Headrest and Armrest covers, Door trim, Dashboards and Seatbelt pads. Now they have gone into the best thing yet, Steering Wheel Covers! They have done BMW's, Corvette's, Mustang's and several others, but had not gotten their hands on a 2 spoke MINI Steering Wheel. RedLine offers to make a product that they have not done yet for free if you send them what they need to make a template (prototyping) from. So I contacted them if they had a 2 spoke MINI Cooper Steering Wheel yet, and they had not, so I just had to send them my Steering Wheel. I gave them what I wanted it to look like and they are now finished. I have always wanted a JCW Steering Wheel for BLU-BY-U, but at $500 for the Steering Wheel and then a new airbag, since a 2 spoke JCW was never done, the cost was way tooooooo much. Instead of doing the half Leather half Alcantara, like a real JCW, I decided to have them do the whole Steering Wheel in Alcantara. The Top in Black Alcantara and the sides in Charcoal Alcantara and increase the thickness to match a JCW. So what they have made, at least to me, is a JCW Alcantara 2 Spoke Steering Wheel. Here are the pictures they sent me from their shop, more to follow along with an install write-up when I get it back in my hands.

Very nice, have they shipped it to you with a potential get to you date?

Perhaps the next run up MT Evans?

Take care, Don

For those that want to see BLU-BY-U's wrapped steering wheel officially on the RedLineGoods website, here is the link.
http://www.redlinegoods.com/MINIleatherwheelcover.php
A standard wheel Cover is $129, but mine as shown with the Alcantara 2 tone and adding thickening to the wheel would have been about $218. That is to make it look like a JCW, which was never done in the 2 spoke.

Are you still waiting on Fed-Ex or UPS? If so, bummer.

The steering wheel is here, and man does it look good. More photos and an install will get posted this weekend as I put BLU-BY-U back together.

To have them send you a wrap for you to put on yourself, probably a week. If you send them your steering wheel, have them install it, and send it back, about 3 to 4 weeks. There is an install guide on putting the wrap on your steering wheel on their site as a video. If you are good with a needle and thread then I would go that route, as they charge $100 for the install. Mine was them using my steering wheel as a prototype during a busy build up to doing steering wheel covers, so it took longer. I sent it March 27th and just got it back today.

Thanks, I'll check it out. Now I just need to find a good center/air bag cover for my beat up one...

Wow, I want to see it, you going to bring Blu over to C&C 95th Street next Saturday?

I think Jamie is going to start the MINI5280 drive from 95th Street after the C&C, just so we can pack the lot with MINIs.
