Pretty good deal on the HFS-4. I'd suspect that if you live in CA you'd get hit with tax on top?

Edit: saw tax info in terms and conditions...

ra2, what exactly is the benefit of getting a 4 over the 3? 135 bucks is not an insignificant amount of money.

Also, can someone kindly explain what all these jet sizes are and why I would need a 2nd or 3rd jet?

$135 isn't so bad I think if you're already going to spend nearly $1k anyways but if you want to know the difference between the 2 I'd suggest going to Howerton's website to see the difference between the 2.

Jet sizes are good to have for certain applications such as daily use or track use. I just use one for all and keep it that way though. They have restrictors also but I don't bother with those.

Plenty of places in LA. Hot Rod Performance in Torrance. I go to Blair's Speed Shop in Pasadena. It was around $7/gal

And how often do you fill up the tank? (and with how much?)

Sorry about the noob questions, but I'd like to have a general idea of what I'm getting into if I'm going to spend a thousand dollars on something.

Don't fill up that often. I check it maybe once a month or so. Tank only takes 1 gallon.

I can not tell you that much about the diff between the 3 and the 4 but what I can tell you about the (3) jets included in the kit is this. AquaMist/Jeff includes three jets, (example .7 .8 & .9mm) Your car will most likely need only the middle one (.8) but you have one up and one down if you need to adjust the size. They also include a T-fitting in case you need to go really large.

I personally am running the .8 on an R53 with a RMW Tune.

Buy VP M1 which is 99% Methanol I about 35$ for 5 gallons local, One AquaMist Tank (~.9 Gallons) runs me 4 tanks full of gas, without turning on the Low Level Light (but is really close to that), with spirited Street/Hwy and some 1/4 tracking.

I am running 90% Meth in an R53, the R53 likes More Meth the R56 you can get away with 50/50 blend.

Just bought in. I did ask about the the slight price difference from what was posted vs the cart price. It's only 13 bucks but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Yeah I'm not sure about that but he lowered the pricing to adjust for the shipping by $10.

These are great prices. When you do the math, this GB is slightly over vendors costs. I seriously doubt you could get a better price except if you were to get it at dealer cost.

Everyone,

I started a thread to help with the configuration and setup/installation of the Aquamist systems. Now buy it. It's a great deal and your MINI will love you for it.

Jeff worked with us and got us the lowest price possible. $150 off a system is amazing pricing.

I'm thinking of moving up to a twin tank, anyone interested in my single tank let me know and we'll work something out!

You could be reducing IAT a great deal more by just increasing the water content in your mix. Water can absorb far more heat before changing phases, when compared to methanol. By using 90% methanol, you're almost exclusively increasing octane rating rather than significantly reducing IAT. And unless your tune is highly dependent on Meth (leaned-out fueling + aggressive timing advance) you're wasting Methanol. There's a reason that pretty much every pre-mix offering is either 50/50 or 30m/70w.

Nice to see improved pricing on the Aquamist Kits.

Just an up date. They refunded the difference on the shipping. I did not ask again. I left it as is was and was ok with the price as it was. Pretty stand up!

Evidently, Howerton E. is no longer offering the HFS 3 or 4 (without a tank) at the discounted price due to constraints from Aquamist. For the disount one has to buy the HSF with a tank. That's a bummer.
