Fuel tank level sensors

Dear all,

I had the left side fuel level sensor replaced. Now when I go to menu 6.0 I can se huge difference between the levels.

Is this normal?

I did a test..., filled up the tank (50lts) and I drove 372kms with an average consumption of 8lts/100kms . It seems even if there is only 7liter on the right side, it should be more less the 20lts indicate of remaining fuel.

I will monitor from here..., I suspect of having that left fuel sensor stuck for some reason.

Best regards

Unfortunately, your observations suggest that the "new" left fuel sender was bad out of the box or was not installed correctly.

As an aside, how does one access the menu 6 fuel tank sender information shown in your tachometer? I have never seen that display.

If you test yours, please post the readings for comparison.

When I looked at the video, simplecarguy's menu 6.0 also reports different fuel levels from the right and left fuel senders. See image below. Maybe this is normal?

What does your menu 6.2 show?

Your menu 6.2 seems to report the electrical resistance readings from the two senders, which differs from simplecarguy'smenu 6.2 information.

Is your fuel gauge in the speedometer working as expected? If so, I wouldn't worry about the different menu 6.0 left and right readings because simplecarguy may have simply misinterpreted the true meaning, which is a mystery.

Nevertheless I will keep monitoring. Because one day it showed me 0lts on the right and 17lts on the left. When I filled up it took 43lts.

Well and the gauge was showing 4 bars on it . That's why I felt suspicious about it.

I will keep this updated.
