Bad fuel sensor...

Bad fuel sensor...
Hey guys,
When I fill up the tank my fuel needle stops working or works sporadically. but when it gets to 3/4 of a tank it works all the time.
I know it's a fuel level sensor and I know there are 2 a left and right. The dealer said it's both, which I doubt both went bad at the same time.
Does anyone know which sensor does what?
