Detroit Tuned. No rattles that'll drive you nuts. If you're only running on the track, maybe consider the GTT/Minspeed style of stop.

There are many posts about the DT stop failing, go with the Minspeed one.

Out of curiosity, could you link to a couple of the posts? The Minspeed is without a doubt beefier, but gawd it rattles like mad.

hmm, I don't like hearing that the DT stops failed, what the hell is the point of it then? My tensioner has never failed and I guess that is the only test for the stop, I hope my tensioner nor DT stop fail

The tensioner stop is not for the failure of the tensioner...it's for the failure of the belt.
Trying to keep all that spring tension under control after a belt snaps is very difficult with cable that has crimped ends.
Obviously the bar type tensioner stop will be way more effective, but they do rattle like crazy. I tried everything to keep the one I had from rattling...it just wasn't happening.
The one I have now is made with stainless cable and looped ends crimped professionally by my local marine rigger.

The moral of the story is to keep an eye on your belt.

I knew I needed a stop after the ~$1000 repair bill when the belt failed and tore everything up. If I'd known that this was even a potential problem, I would've installed the stop as part of the pulley upgrade, just for GP.

As for which stop, I actually liked the DT design over Minspeed because it appeared to me that the top bolt for the Minspeed would have to remain somewhat loose in order to allow the bar to 'adjust' for normal belt tensioning. And, to be quite honest, though I'd not heard of any failures of the DT design, I didn't do any detailed research beyond what was available. Not like choosing between an Alta pulley or M7. The design of the DT stop seems adequate as it was crimped and welded. Also, it appears to be be sufficient to at least slow the disintegration down to a less expensive level.

Regardless of which design, I recommend that everyone who changes their pulleys also include this inexpensive insurance as part of the whole project. Otherwise, you too might have a nice collection of parts to remember the whole adventure from, like these!!

Cheers!!
