Not really MINI related but before my Mom and Dad purchased their Austin A35 they had a Lambretta 150 scooter. Here's some pics of them with friends , probably 1957-59. My Dad still wants a scooter, wishes he hadn't sold his for 10 quid when he came to Canada.

The scooter is a Lambretta LD150 - I would guess it is a 1957 based on the side panel grilles and MK3 type of handlebar covers.

 

Holy cow look at that windsheild! that's crazyness, there must have been some seriously big bugs back in the day!

My Dad always tells the story of how he broke his collar bone when he went over the bars on that scooter (yes LD 150), windshield didn't stop him. My Mom was ticked off because he was late arriving at a cottage they had rented with some friends. Then low and behold, he showed up in a Jam Sandwich (police car) and had his arm in a sling. Other stories about going across Europe one way with the Scooter and back on the train because it wouldn't start. Hope one day I can find one for him and he can ride again, would be nice to add some colour shots to the b/w collage. Thanks for the comments.

Not quite as vintage but this is a photo of me and my scooter club in 1982. Wow, that was 24 years ago - ouch!
