A MINI amongst a sunset (new pic I took)
89AKurt - I'm a constant lurker of this thread, but I gotta say I really enjoy your photos. You are wittiness to some excellent sun rises/sets and I'm glad you share them.
Thanks for your comments on my Flickr photos as well. I haven't figured out how to respond to comments over there so I thought I would just thank you here.

Bumble Bee exit:
Swifty got some attention at the dealer today. On the way home I pulled off I-17 at Bumble Bee exit, timing was perfect. Knew there was a good pull out for pictures. I really wanted to flog Swifty on this twisty undulating lightly traveled road.

First shot taken.

The Dave approved low angle.

Interesting reflection that I didn't notice at the time.

Dave! I need to borrow your strob lights!

Token sunset only shot.

Took this just before returning the Camry rental car.
I picked a good day to drive over 400 miles, less than 100 degrees in Phoenix.

Cool, Swifty's got a halo; such a perfect angelic car!
Great set of photos Kurt.
Welcome tatsu02!
Good to see another contributor.
I'm interested to see your color in different lighting, and those wheels are sweet!

This is all I had for a sunset, too far away and small to be worth jumping in the car and racing down the street.

I actually didn't have much time for this shoot.. so I only have two other "acceptable" shots. But i'll be taking more pictures soon... since i just got my wheels =] anyway here they are.

Did you mean my lighting was less orangey? And thats a kool sunset picture you got.. 99% of my photos are cars..lol

Keep shooting!
Hit the jackpot!
It was only copper, but what an awesome sunset tonight!
I took a bunch of different angles only because it lasted so long. There's got to be a calender contender here somewhere, please help me pick the top 2.

The first shot.

1. The other direction.

2. This is the end of a brand new street. There is still no guardrail, or sign, or reflectors. One could log some serious airtime if they wanted to.

3. This one I did some post-processing (not Photo Shop).

Hey Dave B., how's this for a low shooting angle?
No????

4. How's this? I mean, how low can one go?
Still no?

Is this low enough?
This bank of loose dirt and scattered rock is about 50 feet high, with a 45 degree slope hill below.

Got a good workout climbing up and down the hillside.

5. Ready for takeoff!
Roger...

See? No nuthin' at the brink.

6. Another low angle for Dave B.

I won't bore you with "just sunset" shots.
But just in case you want see them, they are at the bottom (as of today) of this set.
Again, please post your vote for 1 - 6. Kinda hard to decide on just one.:impatient

End of the road, Jack!
Just pick two!?! Your latest set is incredible!
Not a fan of the super low shots and I flinch at how close Swifty is to the edge. Color me shocked that there is no guardrail at that location with our litigious society.
My favorites:
You know the drill if you're interested in any remixes. I'd love to work on 'em.

Kurt something I've done some reading on of late is the ability to do a photo shoot take 10-20-50-300 photos and be able to narrow down those photos to the shot or 2 that has the best value as art and then only take the time to PP those. Even more importantly being able to articulate what it is about those few photos that set them a notch above the rest of the sequence so you know what it is you need to be looking for when composing in th viewfinder. (Yes this is a discussion that probably belongs on a real photo board and it its own thread but I saw something along those lines mentioned above)
