My deep deep condolances and I'm just glad you are still here.

(P.S. Hallmark does not have sympathy for the passing of your car cards otherwise I'd send thoughts that way as well)

The car is so pushed in that the dash exploded as it was crushed. The steering wheel was dangling by the wires. The rescuers may have used the jaws on the dash to extract Joe's legs from the little space their was left. The dash was folded up in the middle because there was no place for it to go.

I tell you what though, seems BMW did a great job designing crumple zones so we can get thru damage like that

Somehow, I think the roll bar, race seats and harnesses had more to do with it. The door is pushed in 21" from the outside. Those deep seats were between him and the door. The car is actually slightly folded down the middle, also.

I don't remember anything between the tire squeal & waking up in the ambulance, but I think they needed jaws-of-life. I can't believe I/we are alive after that ordeal. My left hand's swollen, feet are a bit scraped up & my left hip feels like I got hit by a freight train. Other than that though, I'm good - which is a testament to the safety equipment, design of the car, roll bar & harnesses and top-flight emergency personnel getting us out so quickly. I don't even know how long we were trapped in the car, but I was unconscious the whole time. Tip's Towing (Kurt & Marty's friends) were great & helped coordinate the moment they heard we were pinned against a tree.

Thank you all for your kind words! You guys are our extended Mini family.

They tried the jaws an the drivers door to no avail. The passenger door was pried open and the rear hatch also.

Once you have salvaged and parted out what you can, I think you should have the Frackmobile compacted into a cube and put back up on the pedistal at "the shop" for permanant display.

Very sorry to hear about your car Joe. Now I've got nobody to try and keep up with in mods. I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks guys! You're the best. All of your kind thoughts, words & prayers are much appreciated. I talked to my buddy Dave & he's supposed to be discharged tomorrow morning. He said he has a broken shoulder, cracked ribs & bruised lungs. Please keep him in your prayers too.

Jim, you're right - I had a guardian angel watching over me. Given the velocity, impact, etc. this wasn't one of those events you're supposed to walk away from.

Here's some of my pictures of RIP Frackmobile:

Holy **** Joe. I'm glad you are OK! Sorry about the car man, but your health is the most important part... Time to get a new one and start over, I guess.... Oh, and that is why you NEVER, EVER, EVER hit the brakes in the middle of a turn.... Snap oversteer kills....

Holy Crap...... Sorry about the loss of the Frackmobile, but the best news is that everyone is going to be OK. That's some serious damage. Keep up the good attitude and hopefully the Frackmobile will get "re-born". Thought's are with both of you......

Fracky I'm looking into a rear deffuser from Japan, but it's not the same if you don't have a Frackmobile. I can wait a little while, but not to long. Get well and get another car.

Had to stop by Custom Mini Shop today with Suzie as she said the pictures don't do the car justice. After seeing how the car handled a palm tree at 55 mph gives us more confidence in the design of the car and knowing that our middle daughter will be driving the HB/W 04 Cooper at her first duty station.

Well, I think I'm going to be able to salvage my Hamann piece off the Frackmobile. But I'd really like to do the M7 diffuser if I do a regular MCS. Right now, I'm leaning towards tricking out a GP. I know that's probably sacrilege but it'd be cool.

You got that right Chief. I can't believe I walked away with a concussion & bruising. My buddy Dave's a bit worse for wear (ribs, bruised lung & broken scapula), but all-in-all considering everything the design & performance of the safety equipment is up to par & then some.

OK, I am new to MINI's and still learning. You freaked me out there for a minute and I had to go search the internet. I had not heard about the MINI GP and for a moment there I thought that you were going to trick out a Pontiac Grand Prix!!!!! I was wondering how hard you hit your head.

I'm good now. Glad to see you back on the Forum.
