I agree that from the factory the Clubman is absolutely hideous. However, with what I have in-mind I think the end result would be cool, fuctional, cheap (compared to the current situation) & fun. The battle is not going well however. The quote was "just because you're a Mini Cooper person doesn't mean you can push that on me. " I'm trying to use the force young padawans.
Oh I understand that. My other half , to Minis also. A Carrera 4S? Are you nuts, Wonder how much a brake job is on that . Stay with something the good Dr. Steve can service .

Alright guys, I just got an e-mail from Emil (Vitesse Pro) we're on for Saturday (5/3) morning. His normal dyno guy closed his shop down last week, so he's been trying to get on the calender at two other places & apologized for the delay. Our spot is normally closed on Saturday, but they are making an exception for us. He's advised that we'll be there by 11am with 3 cars maybe 4.

Cost: $400 for tune ($75 off normal tune cost) + $100/hour for dyno. The previously stated cost of $75/hour for dyno time was the cost at the place that went out of business. Dyno time must be paid in cash, so bring moolah.

Site & address:
The Los Angeles Performance Division
10060 Canoga Avenue
Chatsworth, CA 91311
www.thelapd.com

I need to get back to Emil with an 100% assurance for the shop, so please let me know ASAP if you can do this. Jim, I know you're in. Cliff are you in? C-Dub you in like flynn?

Sweet. Emil e-mailed back & said we can get there earlier than 11am. He has to drop his 2.5 year old off at the babysitters, so he said he'll probably be there at 10:30am. What time do you want to leave Fresno? Mapquest says it'll take 3 hours & 25 minutes to get there (214.57 miles). Cliff & Jim, thanks for confirming.

Chef, yes it's slightly more than Jan's tune but from what I understand this is a lot more comprehensive & doesn't start with a base flash to cover most normal modifications. The maximum number of cars Emil can do in one day is 4 due to the intricacies and custom mapping being done. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Jan's doing 7-8/day?

I'm not sure, but I don't think Jan's upgrades or reflashes would be free anyway?

I wouldn't think it will take that long to get there? But if we leave here at 6:30, stop at Selma and meet Cliff, we should be fine. We can cruise at 70 mph, save gas . What you guy's think? Joe, you going to be able to drive back with us?

That sounds good to me. I'm going to pull my Shark Injector out tonight & fill up with petrol. As long as I have my Starbucks in the morning I'll be ready to roll early. Jim, where do you want to meet up in the morning? I should be able to come back with you guys. As long as I'm back in Fresno by 6pm for our dinner thing, then I'm a-ok.

Joe, how do you get down to SB 99? Do you get on 41 or do you go down Clovis Ave.? If you go on 41, then we can meet at 99 and Jensen, at like the Dennys parking lot. If Clovis Ave., then just right there off the highway at Clovis Ave. and 99. Also, what about video tapeing the dyno runs? Plus I have a couple handheld radios we can use .

Ok, what exit in Selma to get there? Are you going to print up directions to get to the dyno shop?

Not us. The cars back in the shop with no engine in it. It's back at the machine shop for repairing the oil leak. I'll cross my fingers.

Awww man, again?!? What's the deal with these guys? It sounds like there's lots of looking at it & thoughts of what might be happening, but zero actual solutions. Tell em' to yank it out & tear it down. Obviously, this is calling for some more extreme measures. Good luck!
