Hi all!! Newbie!!

Hi everyone....the stork hasn't yet delivered my baby, but she should be here from what my MA says on Tuesday. I'm sure that I will have a thousand questions when she arrives but my biggest dilemma right now is what to name her?
Can't wait for my little Bling Machine!!! Have stalked her from Oxford, across the Atlantic to SC and she best be on the road to Memphis by now!!

The name will come to you soon...mine came with the aid of a few beers.

You should join us on 7/20 for our rally benefiting the Memphis Child Advocacy Center. This rally is open to anyone so even if your MINI hasn't made it here yet, you won't get any strange looks for not being in a MINI! Heck, we even had a Suburban join us last year. Check out our website for more info! http://midsouthminiacs.org/

So who was your MA?

Tom Taylor at Roadshow.
He was REALLY patient with me, considering I first test drove/fell in love 2 years ago and didn't order until the beginning of June. (Had to save up a bit!!) I can't COUNT how many times I went by there and stole the LAST 6 speed S that they had on the lot...just to try to figure out what all the bells and whistles did!!!
I'm getting VERY impatient at this point though!!
Do you know what they recommend for mileage before going on a long trip? Need to plan a trip to New Orleans but not sure when I will be able to with her still taking baby steps.

You can take a long trip as soon as you get her, just follow the break in procedures...I can't remember exactly what they are though. I think it was keep it under 90 mph and keep your rpms under 4500. It isn't too hard, especially with expressway driving. I am sure Tom will give you the scoop when you pick her up.

Glad to hear Tom was your MA. He is a fellow MINIac (former club VP) and is part of a three MINI family. They have two new MINIs and a super cool classic Mini. You will probably see them at several events.

I coveted my MINi for three years before I could afford her. I finally went to Roadshow to do a quick spur of the moment test drive and ended up placing my order! The wait was long, but it was nice to get exactly what I wanted.

You should stop by Sonic this Saturday. I am sure there will be several MINIacs there.

Probably won't be a prob following those guidelines....going with Mom and she already warned me NEVER to drive like I did on the test drive that we took without Tom once while she was in the car!!! :-) And what mooma says....GOES!!!

Generally you don't want to take a trip until you complete the break-in. You want to avoid constant RPM's durring the break-in and that's basically all you do on a trip. Driving around town is really the best thing and twisty back roads.

Mini's may be different but that's what I've always heard for breaking in new vehicles.

Yeah...you are supposed to vary your speed when driving for long periods.

Picked her up Saturday and got my first MINI honk and wave yesterday!!! I finally felt like I belonged!!
I was starting to think that I was going crazy. My family/friends are SICK of me talking about her! At least I now know that I'm not the only one!! hehe
