River Run driving tour
Just wanted to let you locals in on a great drive.
Columbus to the Ohio River using some very interesting back roads, then cross on a ferry, have some lunch & wind your way back north on back roads. Here's a link to the flyer.
Hope to see some MINI's there.

No issues on what make of cars run. Run what you like. Last year we had 15 or so Miata's. I was driving one of them & most likely will this year too.
Hope you can make it.

Hey Chuck -
The phone number on the flyer is a fax machine... any clues? Hints? I was going to leave a phone message because the email address is for someone who's out of the country until 5.23.07
Thanks!

That phone number is correct for Eric Jones. Yes he is in England until the 23rd. My guess is his phone/fax is screwed up. Go ahead & send him an e-mail so he knows you are coming.
**** It's important that everyone that is planning on going send him an e-mail. He needs to know how many sets routes to print up.

So I'm curious: the flyer says we leave between 8 & 9am. Do we all leave together? If I get there at 8:55 will everyone be gone?
Don't get me wrong - I am psyched for this. But it IS the weekend, and I'd love to sleep as long as I can. (Of course I guess I can sleep behind the wheel - it seems like everyone else in central Ohio drives like that).

I'm just trying to decide if I want to eat a little at home (and sleep in a few more minutes), or get up earlier, drive all the way to Grove City and eat at Bob Evans before we drive. It just seems odd that if the goal is to drive the same roads together, and experience the same thing, that we don't leave together in a little convoy. But whatever - I'm a newbie. What do I know? (very little - just ask my wife).
See you on Saturday!

Some folks do drive together in a little convoy. Nothing says you can't. That's the beauty of River Run. You do what you want. Convoy sure, drive alone sure, your choice.

Well River Run is done & was a great day of motoring, seeing the sights & meeting with friends. Glad to see some of the LAME brigade showed up.
I believe there were 74 cars of various types there.
Here are some pictures taken by the LAME photogaraphers....

River Run wrap up
Just got this from Susan.
It's the wrap up of River Run.....
Hello,
We hope that you enjoyed your Riverrun day wherever you decided to go. So that it does not get buried in the remainer of the message, I am attaching
an announcement of a drive to see antique car "races."
We know that a number of you followed the route from start to finish. We also had a report that a group of Miatas decided to augment the tour to visit Serpent Mound, which was just off the Riverrun route in Adams County near Locust Grove. We know of a few minor car problems, and a one 180 into the ditch. The latter driver reports that "damage was minimal and they pressed on regardless..................... " We have also heard from a few people who spent hours touring Augusta KY.
We handed out 77 route instructions. We believe that there were 74 cars on the road on May 26th. The car report includes: Miata - 33, British - 27, BMW Mini - 4, Soltice - 2; Other - 7, Unknown - 1. Chuck Ashton and Barbara Frost have shared their pictures from the day. I am sure that they will remind you of the beautiful day that we had. Susan
