Replacement Tires

Okay,

With almost 50k on our 2008 R56, it is time for replacement tires. Have Stock Rims and Live here in Central Ohio (Daily Driver if not obvious from the mileage).

Looking for suggestions for Tire Replacements. Runflat not a requirement, but I like them.

Checked the NAM tire forum, but most are for aftermarket or not in snow.

thanks
Jack

If you are looking for original equipment style tires and RF's are to your liking, I have heard good things about the Continental RF's. My dealer sells a ton of them as they are good wearing, handling and more affordable than most others at about half the price.

They do cost more "BUT"

I do not think you can go wrong with a Michelin tire. The Pilot Sport PE2 plus tire is an all season tire but not a runflat. If you decide on a non-runflat you should get a Slime tire kit to carry with you.

What size stock rims? If you have the smaller wheels your tire selection is going to be limited. Do the 56's come with 15's, 16's or 17's stock? I have 15's on my R50 and they were a bear to find a good high performance summer tire.

Since the OP has/had runflats then they'd be either 16" or 17". Luckily anyone with 15" wheels didn't have to deal with runflats.. Lots of choices in 16" & 17" sizes.

These sound like the best overall. What I should have gotten....

On a side note ive been on the stock Continental RFs for all but one winter, and Im up to 43K miles. They've still got some meat on them too (I know, I know, that just means i'm driving wrong lol), but it was a good amont of highway. Point is, they dont really feel all that terrible. I attribute more to the weight of my rims vs the tire, as the Goodyear GTs i have on 16s feel just about as clunky.
