Spotted

So, I searched and didn't find a "spotted" thread, so I figured I'd start one.

Spotted black mini in Nashua, NH this morning on the highway headed south. Awesome exhaust sound, NH plate was "-WHEEE".

I was wondering why there wasn't a spotted thread. The BMW forums I'm a member of all have "spotted" threads.

I see alot of Justas and MCS on 101 everyday.

I see at least 3 Minis on my way home on Route 20 from Woosta to Springfield. They are heading eastbound while I'm heading west between 8 to 9AM.

Hoping this takes off on it's own. Could be fun.

By the way..I got to "play around" with a Nissan GTR this afternoon. Got on to 293 slightly aggressively, ok I was at 80 half way up the ramp. *grin*

Ended up blending into traffic right beside the GTR. OMFG!! Then...it was on. Hell of a car!!! Just shy of $100K, and he was having as much fun as I was.

I started a thread for this but it probably better belongs here. I "spotted" a ROADSTER at the MINI of Ontario (California) dealership today. Apparently they're moving it around the dealerships in So Cal over the next couple of weeks or so. Ontario MINI will have it until Sunday and then it moves on, so if you live in So Cal, it's coming to you. I got an email from the dealership telling me to come in and see it so if you're on your local dealer's email list you'll probably get one too. VERY sharp, cool car. It was all black with a black interior, red stripes and red interior trim. I liked it A LOT. For some odd reason that the MA couldn't explain, it still had the vinyl camouflage on the back end of the car like you see in those European spy shots on the web. Kinda spoiled the visual of the car, but not enough to take away its coolness.

The last two days out of about 20 Minis that I waved or flashed the highs to two drivers waved back at me. It seems most Mini drivers around here are not into the car or are just snobs.

I drive along a GTR most mornings in the Worcester area. He's a douche though and tends to weave through cars during rush hour morning traffic. There is a time and place for "spirited" driving, and it isn't on a crowded city street.

Most of the Mini drivers I see are females and middle-aged business-looking men who probably bought the car because it was cute and/or small and gas efficient, not because of its following, performance, or history.

I think this is why a lot of customized Mini owners didn't wave to me in my 2009 PW 100% stock Justa. I'm a 25 year old girl in a stock base model...probably not a car enthusiast.

Yet when I was in my supercharged Red Line, everyone and their mom were interested in chatting with me. "That's turboed? I've never seen a turbo Saturn!" It's supercharged from the factory. "Where did you get that body kit?!" It's the factory ground effects kit and comes stock. etc.

I'll miss that car, but I can't wait for my MCS to get here!!

I see Minis all the time and most of the time I try to wave or nod, but every once in a while one will go by and I don't notice until they are past me

Funny how you see the car model you just bought all the time once you start driving it. Being a now former motorcycle rider (yep, traded 2 wheels for our sweet SO beaut), I like the idea of waving but can't see how you'd recognize it going by each other unless the window's down.

Funny...since it snowed here in NH, the Minis scattered like cockroaches when the light is turned on. Saw them EVERY day all over the place, now I barely see one a day. *le sighe*

Will be interested to see how the MINIs in my town (Lexington) react once winter hits in earnest. I've seen quite a number around and have been waving to them but so far, no wave backs.

Too bad the MINIs scattered. Its a great SNOW car. Mine was good even with NCTs on it. I can just imagine how it would have been with Blizzaks!

Tinted windows get in the way of waving.

My MCS will be out and about in the snow since it's my daily driver.

I usually get the blank glare from other MINI drivers who I wave too.

Walking downtown to catch my bus I spotted 4 MINIs:
  • Chili red S with a white top
  • Horizon blue S convertible
  • Horizon blue justa
  • Mint green justa
Now that we have Hobbes, I'm seeing MINIs all over the place!

Saw a chili red with black clubman at sears in Lacey, WA today as I was taking the long way around the outside of the parking lot to the back of the mall. I wasn't able to see his peeps. Kinda looked, like he could be Olivers big brother. :-)

Got my first beep (wave) from a MINI convertible behind me on 495 today. From the rear view it looked like ice blue with white bonnet stripes.

I see several minis on my ride into work(lowell > lexington). A few people here at work have them.

The first day i had my JCW i came out to my car to pick up lunch and there were 3 people just standing around looking at it...kinda awkward but funny all at the same time.

Just saw a chili red S with a black top here in Lexington with "BK 76" plates and a bunch of bumper stickers on the back. Not sure what the plate was referring to.
