Harman/Kardon Standard Feature?

I was just notified that the H/K is available again and can now be ordered on MY24 cars going forward, however, my Sales Consultant is telling me there is a $600 line-item charge now for the H/K stereo on JCW models (F56). Isn't the H/K a "standard feature? Has anyone else ran into this? I understand that the H/K might have been a part of a "trim" option for lesser models, and therefore might have been removed from those trim packages and is now a stand alone option, but hasn't the H/K been a standard feature of the JCW? At least that what MINI's website reflects.....

Thoughts?

Thanks for heads up that it's available again. We've been waiting to order.

I thought it was standard on the JCW as well, but who knows anymore. They keep switching options around for no apparent reason.

The MINIUSA online configurator always lags behind during a model year change. Dealers will have the new ordering guides with pricing.

The reason is parts availability stemming from the ongoing global supply chain issues.

Yep. If a manufacturer can't reliably equip production with a standard feature, that feature's likely gonna become optional for the next model year if problems persist. That's what's happened here, and that's (apparently) what happened with heated steering wheels a year ago.

It's almost certainly not either MINI's or BMW's fault, either. It's -- wait for it -- Samsung's. It owns Harman International, of which H/K is a sub-brand alongside several others.

Read up on Harman International some time, y'all. It's not a pretty tale from a consumer standpoint. And Bose is worse - a big reason I passed on premium audio in my last two cars was because I didn't want that brand or its products anywhere near me.

Yes, same thing happened to me. Placed my order on May 2 for a 24 JCW and was told the HK is no longer part of a package now charging $600 for it. I just hope it comes when I receive the vehicle.

My Mini started production today It still shows HK listed with a red check mark under options added so I'm hoping it will arrive with it.

My 2024 JCW with Iconic trim came without HK, order placed while the configuration was in change over mode for the new model year. They said it was not available again at that time and there was no "credit" on the sticker for it missing like they did on the 2023s. Good luck.
Kevin.

On my invoice the HK is listed separately at $600 so for some reason if it doesn't come with it I see no issues getting credit for it.

Mini's are being shipped with HK systems. My dealer just received 9 and 4 of them have the HK. The weird thing is it's not listed separately for $600 as they told me. it's part of a package. I can't see it being any different on a JCW.
