Question for those with JCW (Bluetooth) Exhaust

I am curious if this is a normal occurrence ("yes, this should be happening"), a common problem ("no it shouldn't be happening but it's a common problem for everyone") or something I should get checked out.

For the following scenarios, assume you have the valves open on your JCW exhaust:

When you switch from Drive to Reverse -- or vice versa -- do you notice if the JCW Exhaust goes from being "on/valves open" back to normal/valves closed?

Same question if you switch from Drive to Sport, or from Sport to Manual, do you notice having to reset the bluetooth exhaust?

Never had to reset from switching modes (green, normal, sport) also no issues going from full auto, to auto/manual mode. I don't recall having issues, but never really paid attention to when I go reverse. I'll see and let you know. Possibly, but doubtful on the reverse scenario.

I just tested mine this evening. Started the car, put it in Sport, pushed the remote twice --> nice track tone. Put it in reverse and backed out of the garage. Valves still open. Drove it to dinner and switched between manual and drive - valve still open.

It stays open.

It stays open. It stays open as long as you don't turn it off.

Yes....true, switching from sport to green and back, forward or reverse, should have no effect on the exhaust flap unless you double tap the remote button or turn the car off.

I'd visit my Mini Service Dept.

Sounds like the power to the blue tooth module in the back of the car is having the power interrupted somehow. Or, it could just be a faulty unit. I seem to remember some folks with the first of these kits having a similar problem, but can't put my finger on where I read it. The dealer should be your next stop.

I think my recently installed JCW Pro exhaust has closed the valve on a few occasions on its own. I've got a manual transmission, and this has occurred with no changes being made to the driving mode.

I'll look down and notice the light on the remote is no longer flashing every few seconds and realize the flap has closed. I'll double click again, and flap back open.

I thought I'd try driving and turn my phone Bluetooth off to see if that's creating some interference.

Mine does it more frequently than I wish. There are drives that keeps open the whole time. And there are rides that the valve closes without a reason.
I believed in the begging, that it had to do with auto stop/start engine feature.
But still have not isolated the reason.

Definitely not related to the auto stop. My F56 does not have the auto stop/start feature (My JCW Brake Kit software update is missing that feature from the factory - software bug) and the flap still closes.

I would like o add one question, and that is how far out are the tips of your exhaust. The dealer installed the JCW PRO Exhaust and left the tips way in, so I had moved them a bit out. Trying to align it to the end of the bumper.
Can you post pictures of your exhaust tips relative to the bumper please?
TY!

Technically the dealer is supposed to install them "way in" as you say to avoid burns. As you have discovered, they are not too hard to adjust to pull them out if you want to. Here is mine:

I have not tracked the car since I installed it, but I did three consecutive runs on the Tail of the Dragon and it remained open for the entire time.

Would have preferred it a little more higher, than out.

Maybe half an inch higher would fill the gap in better. Saving up for a Jcw diffuser but need the Jcw rear as well. That should fill he gap even better!
