Question to all CM JCW owner with tuning

Hello guys

I'm really interested in the CM JCW, but it's a bit weak stock. So after some searching about the N18 engine it should be possible to tune the car up to 260-270hp (with tune, IC, DP, Airfilter)

Is there any owner of a CM JCW which car is tuned and can answer the follow questions:

-What tuning did you have?
-How much hp?
-How big is the difference to stock?
-Did you have any comparsion to other cars?

Thank you guys very much!

I got a JCW Pacemen so close to the Countryman, (minus 2 doors). I put the JB+ tuner in and a stiffer engine mount bushing. I'm planning on removing the exhaust resonator, not for HP bump but more for tone. I estimate that I'm around 240 HP. The JB+ did a little boost, but the biggest bang I thought was with the stiffer bushing. It transferred the torque directly to the wheels, instead of allowing the motor to rock. I felt an immediate increase in acceleration response. If you get the JCW package, the car will come with the larger inter-cooler so save your money. A cool air intake probably won't buy you much because of the location of the air intake in the engine compartment. It's only going to pull cool air when you first start the car. I opted for a manual transmission and I think that alone allows me to control the RPM's enough to get the acceleration that I want. Once you get to 80 MPH, it doesn't really matter.

Much to my surprise, the factory CM/PM's all have the identical N18 engines--regardless of which model you choose. So basically the premium in JCW price is for the JCW chip programming, skirt kit, red brakes, and badging, and red stitching in the steering wheel.

Non-S = 1.6 Liter Overhead Cam, 16-Valve Inline 4-Cylinder Turbocharged, Aluminum Engine

S= 1.6 Liter Overhead Cam, 16-Valve Inline 4-Cylinder Turbocharged, Aluminum Engine w/ Variable Valve Lift Timing

JCW= 1.6 Liter Overhead Cam, 16-Valve Inline 4-Cylinder Tuned, Turbocharged, Aluminum Engine w/ Variable Valve Lift Timing

The S and JCW both have the variable valve lift timing which increases RPMs but the JCWs are further tuned for more HP. So all JCWs are tuned!

You did not mention the ALL4 with or without. But the addition of the ALL4 system is not designed for performance rather it is designed for only safety (according to an article I read by MINI/BMW engineers on the ALL4). So, any performance gain in a chip will be sucked away with the ALL4 system.

Suspension on the JCW is not the same as the S
The turbo itself is bigger on the JCW than on the S
There sure is other differences, but these are the 2 that pop up

Yes it's a 1.8 but it is NOT turbocharged on the non-S current CM and PM

little update: I buy a F56 JCW insteed the Countryman JCW, cause of the weak engine on the Countryman. For the size and weight, the N18 ist just too weak.

But I still love the look of the Countryman JCW, specially if it's modded...
