In my quest to come up with contingency plans if something doesn't work out with the NM wheels for some reason, I actually stumbled on this wheel today that is 18 x 8 with a +40 offset:

FK Ethos RT-7M
18 X8 5-112.00 40 BKGLBM
Black/ball-cut machined finish, one-piece aluminum construction

I would think the 40 offset would easily clear the JCW brakes - no?

At $165 each - not a bad price either. Thoughts?

I would not want a 40et at all,the wheel tire will poke out the wheel arch by 5mm or more. if you want to run a 8 inch wide wheel 45et will be the lowest without poking and if you go any higher et the rolling stock will hit the jcw strut, a 40et might work with normal struts and lowering springs.

When speccing my wheel tire combo tire rack and the other national chains only offered 18x7.5 wheels so i searched a few german and english wheel and forum sites before ordering thru tire rack, during the order i was placed on hold for 20 minutes until they had contacted bbs tech to see if it fit the mini.Funny thing was about 24 hours after placing order tire rack started to offer for mini the bbs with same width and offset on their website.

After consulting with Bbbs the Tire rack sales rep did point me toward the continental tires for clearance and would only mount 215/40/18 tires because any bigger and they would rub and any smaller would be too much stretch.

Actually doesn't look like I will need Plan B or C after all. Jerry made great progress today and looks like I will be getting a custom set of NM RSe12's very soon!! I am in the process of putting together my latest update on my blog. Once it is ready with all the details, I will let you all know.

Heres a link with a MCS running 19x8 with 225 35 19 tires. Doesn't say anything about offset but looks about 45 to me.

So is that photo on your blog of the JCW big brake kit on your car or a stock photo you had? I ask because I just got my 2016 Mini JCW and the rotors are neither drilled nor slotted like what you show in the photo, which kind of ticks me off. Does the JCW BBK do both fronts and rears? and if it includes the rears too are those rotors drilled and slotted as well?

Thanks

That is the stock photo from MINI. I believe they are only drilled and slotted on the BBK kit itself - not the factory car. I have not opened up the box with my rotors yet (I had my brakes delivered to a friend's house and won't get them from them until this Thursday). I can open up the box then and shoot a photo for you if you want?

Sorry - forgot to upload photo of my JCW brake kit rotor for my F56... They are not drilled. They are dimpled and slotted:

Got my custom 17" NM Wheels this past weekend and mounted them with Michellin Pilot Super Sports (215/45/17). Now that I have wheels that will clear the JCW brakes, they are going on next week! Can't wait to see what they look like all together. Will post more details on my blog as soon as I can (heading to Sebring tomorrow to put the new Shelby GT350 through its paces so won't be able to post anything until later this week lol).

How close is the NM red to the Chili Red of the roof/mirrors?

Very nice!! Possible to get a pic of the back? Would love to see the stance and wider tires. Also how close are they to the wheel arches? Thanks!

Sure no problem. I have been getting requests for the same thing from others and should have a post up this week with photos.
