'06 JCW competition Edition

Hey Guys.... i need some opinions. I am a former mini cooper S owner that is looking to pick up a '06 JCW or CE (competition Edition as i am in canada) as a daily driver. I have a line on a one owner Comp. Ed. with 56k two sets of webspokes (summers and winters) always maintained by the local mini dealer.

What is this car worth? I have been looking at all the CE's for sale and they range from 20k (guy said he would let it go for 19k on the phone) to 29K. This seems like the most original one of the lot, one mature owner, and always factory maintained.

I want to make sure i buy the right car and get the right value. I have also found a '06 JCW with 48k on it. (does not have the JCW body kit or wheels) but two sets of factoy alloys and also well maintained. I can pick this up for 22k.

What in your opinions is the best value? how much more is a CE worth? any speculation on what will hold better value? I want to pull the trigger on one of these right away.

Thanks!

I would go with the CE for $19k!!
It includes all the JCW go fast goodies PLUS the JCW brakes and JCW suspension I believe.

I know this is a really really late answer but go with the JCW. If you go with the CE it would make me look bad. I dont want that to happen...

Seems to me it's possible for a regular JCW to have all the options that the CE has. You'll have to compare on a car by car basis. The CE was simply a fully loaded JCW that had all the performance options and some different styling cues. Performance wise, they could easily be identical.

I bought my car 2nd hand. I'm the third owner. It was originally bought by a Utah car collector for his wife. He ordered it with every possible JCW option including the carbon fiber trim stuff. It came from the factory that way.

I bought my 2006 JCW with 23K miles on it last September for $20K. One set of tires, chrono pack, in perfect condition, for your reference.

For reference, I bought my 06 full JCW cabriolet with 12,500 miles on it, 2 years, 8 months ago for 24,000 USD. Besides every JCW option, it also has a full aero kit, JCW wheels and all the carbon fiber trim. Also, leather, heated seats, HK, etc. Every available option except Nav which I was happy not to have because I prefer a Garmin.

If you could get the CE for $19k I think you have done pretty good. Not sure where you're located but I was drooling over this one last week http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehi...AdIdZ361637956
