MCSa, MCCSa, and MCSCABa JCW Roll Call

Guess I'll start with mine, all other auto owners, Coupe, Clubbie, Cabs, all welcome! Not many of us out there, so let's make our voices heard!

2009 MCSa, Sept 08 build, CR/B

JCW Tune Kit #3816
JCW Strut Bar
JCW rear sway bar

Love this car. What a diff between stock and having the kit on, and it's a torrid little fast-shifting beast at the track. Please post with your impressions.

Ok, I'll bite.

2007 MCSa 9/2007 Build BRG/W

JCW Stage 1Tuning Kit
JCW Strut Brace
JCW Suspension (Coming Soon)

I wish I would have installed the kit a lot sooner. It's a different car.

No worries folks. One of the JCW Elitists has left NAM permanently. Enjoy your MCSa JCWs, and don't fear talking about how much they rock.

Not a factory JCW. They offer the stage I JCW tuning kit for the autos too.

No. I think this thread refers to having the tuning kit.

MCSa/MCS JCW is understood as a MCS with JCW tuning kit. No need to actually say JCW tuning kit. If you refer to the factory JCW cars, they'd be just plain JCW or Factory JCW cars.

No, MCSa MCCSa, and MCSCABa (or MCCSa) JCW means those cars are S's with the JCW tune kit attached. What you say is redundant.

No. My MCSa was delivered 6 weeks before the tune kit was available in late 08. I had the JCW strut bar and suspension bits attached at delivery, but just because it had those individual parts does not make it a JCW.

Only factory JCWs and the various MCS's with tune kits, and the badges, are JCWs. hope that helps.

I have heard from a reliable source that a dry-clutch 7-speed auto made by Aisin or Getrag may be offered as a very pricey option on the next-gen factory JCW. We'll see I guess.

Shoot, 7 speeds? I rarely get into 6th gear on the highway or the track anymore!

You can add one more at the end of the week!!

I am upgrading my 2007 MCSa with the JCW tuning kit Thursday as long as it ships to the dealer on time. I have had the car a year and been back and forth about it and decided to go ahead and take the plunge before going to the Dragon at the end of the month!

I'd like to introduce myself. I just happened to purchase a Dark Silver/Black MCSa yesterday at Mini of North Scottsdale. It's got cloth interior with sports pkg and xenons. They're going to install the JCW Stage 1 kit for me. I'm still wondering what I should do for handling. I'm not a track junkie by any means. On my other cars I usually just change out to aftermarket sway bars. Should I add the JCW Strut Bar and the JCW Rear Sway Bar as a combo like sequence did? Or should I use a front and rear sway bar combo? Oh, and I have the stock stereo. I'd like to upgrade that too but it seems to be errrrr....complicated.

If you're looking for a sportier ride, why not just get the JCW suspension offered by mini? I hear good things, it's sportier but not too stiff. Just an idea.
