JCW Stage 1 Exhaust Sound

Is there anyone out there that isn't happy with the sound of the stage 1 exhaust? Is it too loud for your liking or are most people very happy with it. I know personally I don't want it to sound like a modded rice racer. Thanks .

In comparison to the JCW (factory Stage 2 build) it's a bit louder and boomier - it still sounds nice but it is significantly louder than stock or Stage 2.

I'm completely happy with it. From inside you can't tell the difference, but from outside its a nicer deeper tone that tells you it's not stock but also not a ricer. You can find some clips on youtube if I'm not mistaken.

I really think that exhaust is 95% perfect in terms of sound. It would be nice to have it be a touch louder. However, the JCW exhaust is so good at quieting down when you aren't on it that it makes for a damn-near perfect balance.

For me, it is noticealbly louder in the car as well. I think it sounds great with the windows down. The only time I have an issue with it is on the highway with the windows up. Under load, it can be a bit louder than I like at times. I am satisfied with it other than this one issue.

BTW, I don't think it sounds anything like a "modded rice racer".

I really like the sound, but it doesn't burble unevenly the way some of the videos out there make it seem.

I'm surprised; I wouldn't want it any more quiet. I would have thought the factory JCW would be even louder (or just as loud, at least).

Really?

My wife's car's a stage 1 JCW and I've just fitted a stage 2 JCW muffler onto my stock mini, I actually think the stage 2 is heaps louder - although the stage 1 crackles and burbles a lot more than the stage 2 I think.

I swear, mine doesn't burble like that when I lift off the throttle. Then again, I'nm always inside the car when I listen.

Perhaps I should set my camera up for some video from outside.

3500 -4500 rpm is where I hear the muffler boom inside the car, especially going uphill. Otherwise it is fine, but a little louder than stock.
